Did Kendall poo the bed or was that blood? I think I may have missed something there.

Show has become a little too "villain of the week" with each episode, but the dialogue and acting is sharp enough to overlook it.

I assume Kendall ****ting the bed was to represent the life he will never escape. As long as someone is always there to clean up his mess (in this case, the maid... usually his father) he will always just be an extremely intelligent addict ****-up.

It's essentially why the deal got made - whether strategically or not, Kendall planted the idea in Naomi's head that with the buyout she could take her money and get away from all of this and maybe do something different with her life without "the family" always being an umbrella over her.

It was definitely strategic, but it's basically also how Kendall feels at this point. He's a slave to the Roy machine.

Watched the episode last night. I love the bottle type episodes that have everyone in one place at one time. Always makes for good drama. Missed cousin "Gregory", but absence makes the heart grow fonder I guess.

Question - did they kind of sweep the whole takeover thing under the rug by giving Sandy syphilis? Or was that a lie from the Roys?

It was a joke to insult Sandy while trying to blow off the question. The threat is still there and the intent of the Pierce acquisition is to become too big for the takeover bid.

Is anybody rooting for Kendall? He's the most despicable one, yet I find myself rooting for him because he has gotten so low. I feel like I hate Logan most of all and would love to see him fail miserably.

I do find myself rooting for himself, and I'm not sure why.

I do somewhat. He is so broken that I find myself hoping he picks himself up and finds freedom from all this. But with Logan alive and the dirt he has on Kendall, I"m afraid that will never happen until Logan dies. Having dealt with addiction and seen it firsthand, its easy to hope he escapes it. A lot of his problems he brought on himself, but who knows how hard it must have been to grow up in the shadow of Logan and the pressure of living up to those expectations.

The other character I kinda root for is Tom as well. But honestly, I think the genius of this show is that there is no real hero, and there doesn't have to be. There was a quote from an article someone posted above and it said something to the effect of - "the most charitable way to describe [the Roys] is that they are pieces of ****, but they don't pretend to be anything but". There's no real one person to root for, but the writing, acting and comedic elements are all so well executed that it is a must watch show.

My favorite quote from the episode was "It's just Emily Dickenson and low thread count sheets". Hilarious!

Same as above, I also find myself pulling for Kendall a bit. I guess it's sympathy for the constant mind****ing he's taken from Logan for forever. Not that they all didn't, but he seemed to try the hardest to follow in the old man's footsteps but has ended up the biggest wreck for it.

I think the dynamic starting to play out between Logan and Marcia is also interesting. Curious to see where this leads.

Yes! I wonder if Logan gave her assurances her son would be in line as well? Seems like he is just stringing everyone along thinking they have a shot at the throne. The only one that really knows they have no shot is Kendall - he knows he is just a puppet now and can't escape the fact that he is permanently in debt to his father for covering up the manslaughter.

Which makes me wonder as well - what if Naomi takes this money and gets her "freedom" (as Kendall told her) and asks Kendall to join her on her new journey and he can't leave because his father won't let him escape? Would be an interesting dynamic. I really see a suicide in his future. Or Logan's death, which would free him of all this.

Season 1. The bachelor party.

One thing about this show, as much as I love it, I don't want it strung out too long. The tension and interaction and balancing and shifting alliances is perfect as it is, but has a shelf life. The only way to really change that is to kill off/write out one of the family (most notably Logan).

I think this show would be perfect if it ended next year. Maybe by having a Brit running the show they'll lean more into the instinct to not drag a show out forever.

I find it very hard to root for Kendall after the final episode of season 1. The real genius of this show is that you can watch and feel empathy for any of the characters while root against them all.

There are moments I have felt for each of the characters but I still want to see this company steered in to a cliff.

I know it's like I shouldn't root for Kendall considering the last episode of season one, yet inwardly I do find myself wanting him to get out of his pit of despair. His brokenness is so convincing the few times he has broken into tears and really wept.

Seriously. Well said. Week after week, I'm not only on edge because of the roller coaster nature of the plot, I'm on edge wondering if they can keep the momentum, and keep this high wire act of phenomenal writing going, but they haven't let us down yet. It's just amazing.

Tonight, I was convinced Shiv was going to save the day/deal, and I actually thought she more than proved her mettle, but I'm so glad the writers chose to tank the deal instead. Cannot wait to see the fallout/scrambling next week.
