To each his own... This kinda show is just completely in my wheelhouse and I'm left feeling pretty unfulfilled after each one. Each character just seems to completely one-dimensional.

The sharp businessman son that wants to impress his dad and is often times too smart for his own good. The ****-up son who is going to do wacky and extreme things that ****-up sons always do in these shows. The tough as nails but really soft in the heart daughter. The dopey nephew that is going to stumble into success.

I actually think Tom is the most well-written character... Around the family he is nervous and unsure of himself. Around his fiance he is weird and loving. At work he is tough on everyone... and I absolutely love the Peyton-Manning-SNL-skit-esque way he treats the nephew.

Yep, I agree. He'll do something to save the company.

The "1000 Lifeboats Speech" had me swimming in corporate lingo bull sh** and got a good laugh. Have to agree with others on here, not really sure what the show is trying to be but will let it breathe.

I enjoyed this week's episode, didn't have as many laughs but still some good stuff. The false bravado of Kendall and Roman is just ridiculous, neither of them is capable of doing their jobs, which is why it's fun to watch. Every time Kendall gets bad news he just gets dead eyes. The fact his dad had a stroke is the only thing keeping him alive right now, because he would have squeezed the life out him with his bare hands already. Total shock that private equity isn't just going to solve your problems like Kendall thinks.

I'm pretty sure Greg is the Manchurian Candidate, he's going to bring this whole thing down from the inside.

This show doesn't conform to the idea of a drama or comedy, but I like it. It's totally unique, it's enough of a departure from The Big Short that it doesn't seem like they are copying anything I've ever seen before.

We started watching it this weekend because my wife's cousin is joining the writing staff for season 2. I enjoyed it,I just hope I don't have to keep watching every episode twice when she falls asleep in the middle of the episode.

Some more comedic high points this week. Connor getting involved, in a very ludicrous way. Trying to talk his dad to pivot his charity into getting into tax reform instead? Flipping out at the party, enjoying his success, thinking it means way more than it does...to the point where he quotes Napoleon, incredible. Shiv's candidate's husband publicity problem was gold. Tom going into full blown panic attack mode after finding out where the bodies are buried, and to top it all off he confides in cousin Greg, perfect.

Things could start getting more interesting if Connor or someone else starts actively sabotaging Kendall, though I don't know how much help he needs to hang himself at the rate he's going.

I really enjoyed this episode.

I'm enjoying the show so far, although I can certainly see how some could have an issue wifh how extreme/one-dimensional most of the characters are and that at times it seems to be trying too hard for shock factor.

It kind of reminds me of Shameless, except the family is at the opposite end of the wealth/power spectrum. They both draw on the combo of shock comedy mixed into family members going through serious drama. And as ridiculous as Shameless can be, it's a guilty pleasure that I've always watched.

I'm still watching... but Tom is by far the best character and he's like #5 on the characters I think they are pushing for storylines.

Tonight's episode was the best episode of television this year. Hands down.

Just... wow. I love this show so damn much.

I really enjoyed last night as well. They telegraphed how the board meeting would play out, but Kendall failing makes for a more interesting show. Tom as Greg's sherpa of wealth was great.

Tom? He's great...

Greg is going to end up in charge of everything. He's like bizarro Jonah from Veep.

I don't know how Tom keeps a straight face in scenes with Greg, I was dying from the CPK line. When they were eating the birds with the napkins over their heads I was 90% sure Greg was going to vomit all over the table. If Tom takes Greg to naked sushi I won't be able to handle it.

Gonna give it another episode or two, but the show is struggling to decide what it wants to be. If it's dark comedy, this last episode was sorely lacking... But if it's wall-street-drama, I feel like we've seen all of this before.

This. It's too slow for me
TCTTS

"Slow" is literally the last thing I'd call this show. Each episode has been absolutely packed with story and the dialogue is quick and quippy. I can understand a handful of gripes, but I legitimately don't understand calling it "slow."

At this point I've upgraded the show into the "Not must-see TV but when I remember at lunch time I haven't watched the new episode yet I'm stoked" category.

Tom reminds me of the SNL Peyton Manning skit where the seemingly nice guy is just a complete ******** in a "quiet" way.

"They make a cajun chicken linguini just how I like it."

"But that's not how you're supposed to like it."

This show is great. I didn't care for the first episode much because I thought it didn't really know what it wanted to be (comedy, drama, etc). But it's a legitimately great drama with some well-timed and mostly dark comedy mixed in. Favorite new show I've seen in a while.

Love most of the characters. Find Shiv mostly annoying for some reason. But wife and I are really enjoying the show.

The scene where Tom and the kid are eating the bird with the napkins on their heads. There was a similar scene in Billions where Axe, Wags and another guy did the same thing. Found that interesting.

Her default facial expression is smirk. Also could be cast as the evil elf in some dark Christmas comedy.

There are a lot of unlikeable characters in the show, Shiv being one of the main ones -- but at the very least they salvage her character's... character... a bit with the decision to not have her sleep with her ex.

She very much knows she is a terrible person.

So I turned on a random Netflix comedy with Zoey Deutch called Good Kids and ****ing Greg is the co-star. His mannerisms here are like a young Ray Romano....love this kid

Three episodes in. Enjoying it thus far. Episode 2 has been my favorite, and I too have noticed shifts in the comedy/drama between episodes. And that's not a bad thing, I like a show that walks that tightrope. (Ie. early seasons of BB, and Barry more recently.) Keeps you on your toes and keeps it from getting stale.

Roman is the standout character to me. He's just hilarious to me. I cannot stand Greg as a person and even as a character he is highly annoying, but can't say his scenes don't make me laugh.

Brian Cox plays a great ***** father.

So what's the closest real world comparison for this corporation? Turner? Disney?

It's supposed to be a VERY light nod to Roger Ailes. So a version of Fox, but with an added theme park bent as well, so a little bit of Disney too. There are hints of the news organization in the show being conservative/Fox News-esque, and a friend of mine said the events of this past episode - with the whole no-confidence thing - are loosely based on something that happened to Michael Eisner last decade at Disney.

In short, it appears to be a Fox/Disney hybrid of sorts - or, rather, simply "Disney" as it will likely come to be known soon.

I just actually LOL'd because I pictured Eisner in a board meeting with Donald, Mickey and Goofy calling for a vote of no confidence. They all get fired or steamrolled by Eisner after it fails. You come at the king, you best not miss.

I would like that board meeting even more than the one from this weekend.

This doesn't really seem like the type show where characters phone in false terrorist threats as plot reveals.
