I remember being a teenage boy and being ashamed to cry, but a few movie scenes broke me down.

- The end of Braveheart, the final charge with the inspirational music "warrior poets". It got me.

- The end of American Beauty, when the protagonist has realized what mattered most in his life.

- The end of Vanilla Sky, that incredibly moving Sigur Ros tune playing as that awesome montage of flashbacks plays.

I've only cried in 3 movies that I can think of.
1. Friday Night Lights
2. Up
And the last one just recently was 6th Sense. It was so weird because I'd seen it multiple times & never cried. It was late, I was alone & drunk. My grandmother had just died a couple months before. This scene with the boy & the mom in the car got me bad.

Bambi.
Fat Bib Fortuna

Forrest Gump when Forrest stutters asking Jenny if Little Forrest is smart or stupid.

Then again in "The Bucket List" when Nicholson crosses off "Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world" after finally getting to meet his granddaughter.

And quite recently at the end of Coco, because grandparents are missed the older you get.

First in movie theater - E.T.
First book - Where The Red Fern Grows
One that I'm not ashamed of - Rudy
One that I am - Notebook

8 seconds gets honorable mention..... it was a first date and had to keep eating popcorn and sucking down coke to keep it together.

1. As mentioned, the OG movie that did it was My Girl. "He can't see without his glasses." did it to elementary school me.
2. Opening of Up. Saw in the theater with the GF and we were not prepared.
3. Speaking of Pixar, the last 10 minutes of Coco. Grandmas, family, etc. It was too much.
4. Selena when "Dreaming of You" starts playing at the end. Turning out a bright light.
5. Not even a dog person, but when Will Smith had to put down his dog in I Am Legend, that was rough.
6. Saving Private Ryan and "Tell me I'm a good man." Validating your existence.
7. "It's not your fault." in Good Will Hunting. See a person's wall come down.
8. When "Imagine" starts playing in The Killing Fields. The one time overly sappy music selection works.
9. 50/50 when Joseph Gordon-Levitt is about to go under the knife and panics. Too real.
10. Million Dollar Baby.

Made the mistake of watching Marley and Me a week after my lab died. Half way through the movie I thought to myself "this dog better not die". Cried like a baby at the end.

Came here to post this.

I remember it vividly. I was a complete mess. That movie was intense to watch as a child around their age.

Lots of scenes in the movie. The one that got me is when he's walking through the hallway, high on pot brownies. He passes by a huddled group crying in the hallway as "To Love Somebody" is playing. Much too real

I'm sure there were other before, but my most vivid memory of crying at a movie was the end of La Bamba. I was 10 or 11.

Top Gun. Prolly 5 years old. Still hate seeing Goose die. I think it's the shot of the little kid in the big leather chair mourning that got/gets me.

"Samantha" = knife in heart
Not that I wouldn't have cried if Sam had been a boy, but this hit me hard.

I'm pretty confident I would have cried watching Old Yeller but don't remember it.

However, I distinctly remember crying in the theater during E.T.

When Spock emerges from fal-tor-pan and silently passes the whole crew, but walks back to Kirk and repeats that line. Always gets me.
