Rugrats movie. When Dil and Tommy have their big fight in the woods. As the oldest brother of 4 it really struck a chord with me as an 8 year old.

The Patriot, when Mel Gibson's little daughter breaks her silent treatment of him and runs after him begging him not to leave.

I don't know for sure that this is the first movie I cried in, but it definitely is the first one I can remember and it was a lot of crying.

A tear here or there, but Schlinders List had me crying pretty bad at the end.

Definitely Brian's Song, cried like a baby. Don't know how well it has held up over time though, been 40+ plus years since I've seen it.

Cried reading that book as well. Lots of letters from families at the end.

More recent movies, I bawl at Big Fish every time. I cry at Les Mis in any incarnation and even sometimes just listening to I Dreamed a Dream.

Shocked that Up isn't on this list.
The thread mentioned first time a movie made you cry. Up was only about 10 years ago.

But God yes, sitting in that theater with my kids and tears streaming down my face.

I also cried with my kids watching The Muppets. When Kermit started in on "Rainbow Connection" my childhood came crashing back on me and sharing this with my kids made me lose it.

Yep but I think I should have said four. The "vision" montage at the end gets me dang near every time too.

I just recently watched the whole thing through with my 5th grade daughter. After I explained what a "*****" was she absolutely loved the entire movie, cried at all of the parts that she was supposed to and laughed at all the awesome one liners. She even uttered a completely serious and solemn "wow!" as Woodrow was beating the high holy out of an army scout.

Her new soccer team met last week for the first time and as a get to know you, the teammates introduced themselves, said something interesting and named their favorite movie: hers was Lonesome Dove. It's official....I'm raising her right.

That thing gets me every single time. Especially, for some reason, the African American lady that refuses to believe it at first. That scene eats me up.

I cried when I saw the new Ghostbusters. Ruined my childhood favorite franchise.

Dances with wolves when the wolf is being shot at and doesn't recognize the danger. Beautiful moving musical score in that movie builds to a crescendo here

Jaws. Seriously. I was like 5-6 years old. Back when kids watched movies they'd never see today. It was the scene at the end where Schneider fires his last shot as he screams "smile, you son of a *****!" And he hits the air tank in the shark's mouth to blow up its head. And yes, I know shooting a scuba tank won't blow it up like that today, but the emotion and suspense in the movie for a kid that age really got me super emotional. To this day my sister says I was rooting for the shark. Given I was a 5ish year old boy, I probably kind of was.

The first one that I remember crying at was John Q. The ending where he's being taken away and his kid flexes in the wrestling pose... such a great movie.

Was going to post this.

Plus I'll add the the Right Stuff gets me every time. I grew up a NASA brat so anything dealing with the space program is like reliving my childhood

Probably ending of ROTJ when Vader turns.
Also toy story 3
And parts of inside out got me good.

And man card turned in - I now have a 2 year old and newborn son - the part in a goofy movie where max says "but dad I have my own life now" and goofy says "I know!! I just want to be part of it..." makes me lose it.

Selena. I was a kid, had never heard of her, and had no idea she would die.

I can't remember mine, but I will always remember my son's. He's 3 and a half and just got really into Lion King. The other night we were watching and the Mufasa death scene came on and I looked over and he was wiping his eyes with his lip quivering. I asked him if he was ok and he looked at me and said "it's just so sad. So sad." And then he asked to cuddle closer to me.

Damn near made me cry.
