You could possibly be right, except that absolutely everything from this film has looked completely badass so far. I don't know that I've anticipated a Marvel film more than this since some of the first movies.

Those are not surprising reviews to see out, considering the racial makeup of the movie. No one wants to be the guy to come out and say one of the first real black superhero movies is bad, or mediocre. The mob at large would just label him a racist.
However, I liked the character and the actor, and I think there are a lot of other pretty good actors in this, so I am very optimistic.
Just my opinion as far as how seriously to take any of these reviews, is all.

It looks fantastic and I can't wait to see it. Not going to let political or social commentary from any side ruin it for me.
Call me contrarian, but I'll go ahead and say it...PatAg said:

A few people are just saying they have reservations about the reviews, because of what is stated by the reviewers themselves. Why is that such a problem for a few on this board? If people see the movie and think it feels political, that's going to be talked about - it is unavoidable from either end of the spectrum.
From my experience, a few reviewers always overstate this and find their political opinions in the most innocuous things (Rogue One anyone?).

I guarantee this will be the coolest movie my 6 year old son has ever seen.

I do think this movie will end up with 95% or something crazy on Rotten tomatoes, and it won't purely be about quality. Much like the undeserved love for Luke Cage. Loved him in JJ and defenders and the first half of his own season but god that ending.
First half was really good.TajMaballer said:tv1113 said:

Reviewers only got the first 6 episodes of Luke Cage, so I don't blame the reviewers on that one because the first half of Luke Cage is still my favorite Netflix show. The second half makes the season as a whole my second to least favorite.

I don't ever see movies on opening weekend, too much hassle and people suck.
I might make an exception for this one.
Reserved seating and theaters that kick people out make opening weekend a much more pleasant experience than it used to be.Dr. Teeth said:

No one will be allowed to even think anything negative about this movie.PatAg said:
Not sure why you are sighing. I clearly stated I'm looking forward to this movie.

Sounds like a big SJW circle jerk to me.

Los Angeles Times reporter Jen Yamato described Black Panther as "a superhero movie about why representation & identity matters, and how tragic it is when those things are denied to people.

While it may not mean anything to you personally, for some people it's a really big deal to see someone who looks like them represented on screen in a key role. And personally I think that's awesome.
Yep. I try and see these kinds of movies on Thursday nights thanks to reserved seating.fig96 said:Reserved seating and theaters that kick people out make opening weekend a much more pleasant experience than it used to be.Dr. Teeth said:

I just generally don't like crowds and waiting. People are inconsiderate and rude, and it pisses me off, and I don't like getting pissed off.CJS4715 said:Dr. Teeth said:

What's the hassle? Buy ticket online and show-up to theater?
My problem is I used to always pick opening night, because I thought it was the greatest chance of no talking little kids. But, apparently some parents don't mind taking their 4 year old to a Marvel or Star Wars movie at 7:30 pm on a Thursday.
Right, and with reserved seating you don't wait and good theaters don't tolerate inconsiderate people.Dr. Teeth said:I just generally don't like crowds and waiting. People are inconsiderate and rude, and it pisses me off, and I don't like getting pissed off.CJS4715 said:Dr. Teeth said:

I don't shop at Wal-Mart for the same reason.
Fan of the character and Michael B. Jordan. Creed was awesome and I'm still pissed that Poot didn't killed.redline248 said:
