It is her family home. I would imagine they left a small force at Dragonstone and not completely deserted it. They would know if there was any attack then but otherwise would assume it was safe I guess to return.

But not scouting the area ahead of the fleet is inexcusable of course. Hell for that matter not having recon patrols between DS and KL is dumb. They should have been watching any moves into our out of KL.

Quote:

Jaime is going back to KL because he knows his story ends with Cersei. Either he's going to try and save her from killing herself, possibly be able to convince Dany to spare her life, or kill her himself. After all, she is carrying his baby and the heir to the Lannister dynasty. But he's not going to try and "be with her". What changed from him wanting to stay to deciding to go was that he saw Cersei could potentially win, and he knows he can't let her kill all of these good people for her own selfish power-hungry reasons. He'll try to convince Cersei to give up and save the baby and it probably won't work which results in him killing her, but he's not going back to join her side in the battle against Dany and Jon.
I know we've been all around the possibilities on this one, but I found this quote interesting from one of the producers:

Quote:

As much as Jaime cares for Brienne, and admires her and loves her...he's got almost an addiction to Cersei that he just can't break. He makes the choice to go back to Cersei.
Now, I realize that not everything they say is gospel, but I think it means he left b/c he's still in love/addicted/obsessed with her that he intends to do whatever he can to keep her from being killed.

messed up my tags

Did spoiler tags because I'm referencing stuff in the previews...

From the article previously posted, "Tyrion finding a way to "wake dragons out of stone" would seemingly also tie directly into the Prince That Was Promised prophecy, perhaps indicating that Jon, Daenerys and Tyrion can only fulfill the prophecy together. "When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone,"

Seeing Tyrion at Dragon stone makes me think he comes up with some idea to turn the tide. With drogon being the only one left, maybe they find a clutch of dragon eggs or something similar at Dragonstone and using drogon fire breath start hatching them.

I don't put anything past the show at this point. Euron looks like whatever he's seeing is a game changer.

Maybe afterwards Dany goes to back to Valeryia to rebuild it with a host of new dragons.

Just spitballing

One more edit. Tyrion specifically says "stones" when he talks about when dany was carrying the eggs into the fire. Don't think that terminology was used in previous seasons but may be wrong

The dumbest thing that happened in the last episode was when Gendry Baratheon, Lord of Storm's End got down on one knee and made a modern day marriage proposal. I guess we'll all just have to mentally retcon that to something like "he doesnt know any better thats cuz thats how the commoners do it, or something"

How should he have proposed?

I think the implication is that royalty generally didn't propose back then. You had your marriages decided for you.

I get that, but who is Gendry going to ask for Arya's hand in marriage instead? You think Jon is going to decide that? Bran? Sansa?

If we are going to be super nitpicky, then surely we can explain how it should have happened.

I didn't think it was dumb for him to ask for her hand in marriage, if anything it made sense. He wouldn't know better. It would most likely get decided by Dany, or he would consult with his council, except I think they might all be dead already.

Yeah, and I didn't meant to imply you thought that.

The poster said it was the dumbest thing in the episode. I'm just asking how.

Although, I don't think Dany would weigh in, other than to approve/congratulate their decision. You think she would want to risk pissing off Sansa by making that decision for her sister, the person who literally saved the continent?

The Best: Tyrion and Varys arguing treason

The Coolest: Ghost's torn ear

The Worst: Can't decide between: Rhaegal's death and lack of awareness, No Ghost goodbye hug & Tormund over Sansa, or Cersei not taking out Tyrion immediately

Just re-watched the episode and Jamie is 100% going back to KL with the intentions of saving Cersei (or "preventing her death"). In the scene just before he tells Brienne about all the awful things he's done for Cersei, Sansa was informed of Euron's sniper bow-hunting excursion. She then drops the line to Jamie;

"I always hoped I'd be there when they executed your sister. Now it doesn't look like I'll have the chance."

The camera zooms back to Jamie who has this 'horror-stricken' face. The next scene he immediately leaves Brienne. There's no doubt. That scene can only be interpreted as Jamie to the rescue. If it's anything other than that (without any other interaction to/from Jamie), it's just another audience fakeout.

I can see Jamie being unable to quit his Cersei addiction. But I can also see him killing her, baby or no baby, if it has to be done to save the innocent.

That said, to me the bigger question is what does Cersei do when Jamie returns? She'll never trust him again. She sent Bronn to kill him. She wants him dead. He's just riding to his own funeral but I guess he knows that it's the end.

The Stark line might be at an end. Jon isn't a Stark and Bran isn't likely to father a son

I've thought for a while that Jaime would save Cersei. Even though he knows exactly what she is, he's always loved her anyway. He hates that he loves her but he still does - an addiction is probably a good analogy. I can imagine a scene where she's about to be killed and he jumps in to save her, almost against his will. Even killing one of the good guys to save her.

But I can also see him finally recoiling in horror at what he/she has done and at the end being the one to finish her off. I said earlier in this thread (like 100 pages ago lol) that I keep thinking of the Lord if the Rings where at the last minute Frodo can't destroy the ring.

Re: Bran

Quote:

Erections are the number one issue after paralysis. Normally, men have two types of erections, psychogenic and reflex.

Psychogenic erections result from sexual thoughts or seeing or hearing something stimulating. The brain sends these arousing messages through the nerves of the spinal cord that exit at the T10-L2 levels, then relays them to the *****, resulting in tumescence.

The ability to have a psychogenic erection depends on the level and extent of paralysis. Generally, men with an incomplete injury at a low level are more likely to have psychogenic erections than men with high-level, incomplete injuries. Men with complete injuries are less likely to experience psychogenic erections.

A reflex erection occurs when there is direct physical contact to the ***** or other erotic areas such as the ears, nipples or neck. A reflex erection is involuntary and can occur without sexual or stimulating thoughts.

The nerves that control a man's ability to have a reflex erection are located in the sacral area (S2S4) of the spinal cord. Most paralyzed men are able to have a reflex erection with physical stimulation unless the S2S4 pathway is damaged.
