Ok, I've processed. This was a disaster. I mean it was OK, but given the build, what a fricken let down. You've been building a story for years. Pay it the hell off. Kudos to the Russo's for End Game. This was bad.
The dragons.... meaningless. Jon R+L=J, meaningless. Pay off Ghost and the dire wolves who were threaded in the story since episode 1... Give Ghost a late come back with a howl and Nimeria charging in with all the wolves of Westoros. The internet would have melted.
Dothraki crossing the narrow sea? Meaningless. Aria??! She could have killed the NK 5 ways better. At least let some of the main characters run through the whites and actually fight White Walkers. Not one single WW fight? Horrible.
The Song of Ice and Fire is a Cerci Lannister story. Boo.....
Think this sums up my feelings. The first scene of this show opens north of the wall and you're made known about the threat of death and the coming Winter. Expected something deeper I guess for that resolution. What is Fire and Ice really then?
They just defeated the biggest threat to the living, now let's go fight another human war to end it?
I don't understand what more y'all couldve possibly wanted. The army of the dead built tension for years, defeated the humans at every stop until winterfell, and finally faced off with a huge human army in a huge battle....what more did you want?
Goes back to the last line. The Army of the Dead is supposed to be the largest army ever assembled in the realm. The living just arguably won the greatest battle in their history. If you're still living, you just overcame the greatest odds to survive.
Now we are just going to take a week, lick our wounds, have one feast and be like -- "hey guys, let's go get Cersei now!" I wouldn't give a **** about King's Landing or Cersei if I survived. Why would anyone in the north now care about what is going on in the south unless the Golden Company was marching their way? Get on a damn boat to Essos, leave this **** behind and be thankful you're still alive and live a good life. If I were still living after last night, that would be the last fighting I ever do.
I thought that the battle for life and to end the Long Night would put the quarrels of men into perspective for some of these characters. Maybe there will be conflict upcoming on who will still commit to Dany's cause for the fight for the throne. Just don't see how we are just supposed to band back together after all the fighting these characters have been through for one last fight that means less then what they just went through.
Just seemed like last night's episode was a box check for the writers that lost significance. If this had been episode 5 and really the finale of the series, I wouldn't be feeling this way and honestly satisfied. Just feel like we got our priorities mixed up. The NK, in my eyes, should be the final boss. For all the evil that she has done throughout the series, Cersei still doesn't compare. Final three episodes feel more like a side mission now than a main quest.
