Also, are there any other good companion podcasts out there that people listen to? I know the Ringer has one. Any others?

That's how George Lucas originally envisioned George R.R. Martin's saga, but previous technology wouldn't allow it.n_touch said:Maybe I missed it, but why is Danny's throat red here?Brian Earl Spilner said:
To be fair, he would also trump any other younger sons (little brothers of Rhaegar) as well.agrams said:
He is the legitimate firstborn son of the mad king's firstborn son.. which trumps daughters. Old school primogeniture.

Child of the heir >>> younger siblings of the heir.
I don't think Arya even knows about Jaimie's hand, let alone the fact he's on his way to Winterfell.pete_claw98 said:
Engineer nerd fan observation. What if Arya's dragon glass end of the spear could be out where Kingslayer's Gold Hans is? Captain Hook style! Valyrian steel sword in one hand and a slicing dragon glass "hook" (not a hook but an homage to Captain Hook) on the other?? Too corny??

I think the weapon she asked him to make is just the staff she got used to fighting with in Bravos. It's surprising she would be proficient with Needle as she never used Needle in her Faceless Men training. Still, I can't figure out why she would really need a THIRD iconic weapon.
Sure, but why would ARYA be asking for Gendry to make it? Arya doesn't know or care about Jaimie's lack-of-hand.Champ Bailey said:smokeythebear said:I don't think Arya even knows about Jaimie's hand, let alone the fact he's on his way to Winterfell.pete_claw98 said:

A dull hook makes sense for many practical reasons. Riding, climbing, even carrying can be done with a hand and a hook. There is a reason it was a stereotype for pirates.

Oh yeah, I don't think there is any connection. Just saying that I always thought that it was dumb Jamie didn't have a hook to do things himself, for as much pride he has.

I'm rewatching through right now, and over lunch, I watched the episode where Qyburn makes his gold hand and Jamie says, "A hook would be more practical"

What? Great episode:
Dissension in the North, internal and external. Mistrust abounds
Jon reunited with Starks
Jon's identity revealed and Dragons let him ride
Many characters reintroduced after a long gap
Cercei plotting with Euron
Wall is burned down; White Army on the way.
Arya plotting something
Dragons hungry; Dany suspicious
Bran mysteriously controlling
New music pattern to same theme song. New visual during theme.
Yup. Great first episode. Momentum is building
