Mother's Mercy is on now. I really wish I didn't know that they used a body double for Lena.

The size of the cans should've tipped you off.

Sansa was right to keep Jon out of the loop on the knights of the vale. He has to be bailed out of every situation. If he had the vale with him he'd screw it up somehow and Ramsey would have better planned. Jon is terrible. Noble as s***, but terrible.
Jon is great in the fight, but he can't plan for *****

It's not so much that his plan is bad, it's that he lets emotion drive him too much and he throws his plan out the window.

Edit: didn't he lead the defense of the wall against the wildlings?

And Stannis saved his butt there too.

He did manage to eradicate the brothers who defected at Craster's with a way smaller force than theirs.

But yeah, he's been bailed out most of his fights. Even death.

No, not really. Yeah, he prevented the Wildlings from attacking again, but John and Co. won that battle well before Stannis arrived.

Anyone know a good recap video? It's for my parents. They love the show but can barely keep characters straight, they will be really lost after the hiatus.

So now for some baseless speculation, do we think there's any chance Arya gets a little revenge on the waif or the faceless men?

I'd like to see her revisit her list and see what the score is and if any names have been added.

no to revenge.

I am sure people on her list are dealt with by show end, either by her or by someone else.

Agreed....I think she just considers that her apprenticeship and is glad to be back home and have the skills to do what she always intended. And I don't think she feels she owes anything to Jaqen. And she already got revenge on the waif.

Essos is over (imho)....with the exception of Euron getting the Second Sons and bringing them to Westeros but we might not even see him in Essos for that just sailing back with them. We still may see Daario again but not in Essos, if we see him at all he will also come to Westeros. Even Melisandre said she and Varys will die in Westeros (foreshadowing) but removing any need to go there again.

Essos was a holding ground from a literary point of view to keep the ultimate finality of Westeros/KL/North/Wall/NK/etc. from happening too soon. It was a convenient device to separate protagonists until the field narrowed. Once Dany left (and Arya) that was it. And for both it was their proving ground in different ways.

Yeah, I should have thought that question through and worded it gooder. I'm just watching Season 6 on HBO right now and wondering who else from Essos (besides the Bank and the Golden Company) might appear this season after spending so much time on those storylines. We know Jaqen H'gar knows his way around Westeros and Arya knows her way around Essos, even though her return home got fast-forwarded.

+1

Also, she has no need for revenge on Jaquen.

Jaime, most likely, or Tyrion, less likely.

Who Kills Cersei?
no one knows:
frontrunners, in likely order

Jaimie or Tyrion

Arya

Dany

Jon

Hell, she could kill herself by trying to burn the Red Keep.

Cleganebowl might be her trial by combat, for all we know (and I have no knowledge of this one way or the other). If the Hound wins, she dies.

Since it feels like Cersei hasn't left KL in four years, i think she commits hari-kari or it's done by Jaime's hand.

I am NOT linking this to the site it is from due to a **** ton of spoilers being on that site.

a snippet from tomorrow's 60 minutes GoT special:

Martin adds that the show being "a different version" of the books is "true of every adaptation." In fact, when asked about whether he worries people will have the show's ending in mind before the books, he makes it clear there's not that much of a difference after all: "I don't think Dan and Dave's ending is gonna be that different from my ending because of the conversations we did have," he says, decisively putting many rumors to rest. "But on certain secondary characters there may be big differences."

I'm not sure if that means D&D will be faithful, GRRM will adapt his story to their ending, or if the books just never get finished so might as well say that it's a faithful adaptation.

He is saying the major story beats will be the same. And the outcomes for major characters will be the same.

There will be differences for minor characters.
