Something about this trailer feels 1980's/90's to me and I have no clue why... maybe it was just the format it was played in. Not too sure about this one, though.
It's Sony.AliasMan02 said:
Just watched it and wondered if I was alone in my feeling about this. I admit skepticism going in, but... meh. Not sure this is going to work. I don't even think it's the lack of Spider-Man, but just the whole vibe seems wrong. Is it a horror movie? That could work but I don't think that's what they're doing.
I take it you haven't watched vice news at all.GiveEmHellBill said:
Eddie Brock is a reporter. Okay, that's actually good. However, he apparently shows up to interview a rich industrialist looking like he's just come back from a camping trip.

I would guess similar to how deadpool and the punisher are anti-heroes.GiveEmHellBill said:
One other thing:
If you're trying to take down an evil corporation that's killing who-knows how many people trying to bring about the next phase of human evolution....how are you the anti-hero?
Venom was an anti-hero because he wanted to murder Spider-Man...but would occasionally help innocent civilians in trouble.

The writer for the movie is the person that wrote the 50 shades of grey movie, so there's thatM.C. Swag said:
But the dialogue is god awful. The tag line was th cherry on top: "embrace your inner....anti-hero"....wtf
Yeah, I get that. But Deadpool (the movie) was really only out for revenge and the Punisher just flat-out murders people. Sure, they're scum, but he is "taking the law into his own hands" as Daredevil would remind him.schmendeler said:I would guess similar to how deadpool and the punisher are anti-heroes.GiveEmHellBill said:

.............................so about this Venom trailer. Still not sold on the look of him in that last shot. Still looks too much like the Topher Grace version.schmendeler said:that was a "universal" you. as in "what one would wear"GiveEmHellBill said:I doubt it, I'm usually buck naked on conference calls.schmendeler said:they wear the clothes you would wear to do a conference call from home when they do any on-camera work.GiveEmHellBill said:schmendeler said:I take it you haven't watched vice news at all.GiveEmHellBill said:
