I went back and watched for Tormund, it looks like he ended up on the intact portion of the wall, then no further scenes with either. So that plus the fact that the show didn't explicitly show them dying, I'm assuming he (and probably Beric) are still alive.

Didn't he tell the Hound that they'll meet again? Can't do that if he's dead (assuming he can't be revived anymore with Thoros gone).

They did a great job with the suspense. Wondering whether or not the wight was going to be alive or dead was my "shiiiitting bricks" moment in this episode, like Tormund getting buried under wights was in the last episode.

That one was good, but it was Jaime and the Mountain for me. Looking back it would have been a crappy way for them to kill him off, but I really thought it was happening after she nodded and the Mountain drew his sword.

I don't dislike the show. That's my point. It can be awful in many aspects and I still watch.

Does anyone think the stuff with Cersei will happen after a showdown with the WW? That was her plan, but it'd seem like an odd choice for the show. That said, the WW seem to have picked up their stride, so they'd be at Winterfell in no time. Do the good guys do a fighting retreat and drag the army of the dead south to KL and force them to join the fight?

Ok so Targaryens never had any particular common *******s name...they did not have a region as they hailed from Essos originally.

Targ *******s over the years had many surnames including Rivers, Waters and Blackfyre.

Some used the name of the region for the mother others used where they were born, etc. So I think Bran was assuming because the TOJ was in Dorne he would be a Sand.

the Westeros custom is based on the region the father was from - but thats not true of Targs.

To be honest, my first thought was that it's a pretty crappy way to drop the Wall for just the reason you mentioned. What was the plan before they had the dragon? Were they going to just climb it like the wildlings? I guess there's no magic in the wall unless the dragon nullifies it.
