When I read the books, I actively blocked out/ignored character ages because they're stupid.

Jon is like 11, Ned is 25... F*** that I want to read stories about grown ups.

Yeah NO.

Ned is actually 36 in the books when he dies - the same year as when the books started ( the year of the War of the 5 Armies).

Jon is 16 at the beginning of the books.

It is set in 299 AC. Jon is born in 283 AC and Ned in 263 AC.

Most of the events through Book 5 are in 300 AC so Jon would be 17 and perhaps 18 by the events we are seeing now.

Every time I see him I think I've seen him somewhere before. He looks so familiar but I have checked his IMDB resume and do not recall any of his former appearances. It's like he's a cross of Ewan McGregor and Michael Shannon.
