As a kid? The forest scene from E.T., the furnace scene from Home Alone, and the quarantine scenes from E.T.

Those combined into a creepy E.T. coming out of the furnace, chasing me through the forest nightmare for years.

Dead Alive. To this day the only movie I've stopped watching due to feeling like I was gonna puke on more than one occasion.

The only other movie I've stopped watching part way through was RENT, but that's cause it was a giant piece of **** and made me feel I'll for a different reason.

Already mentioned:
- Saving Private Ryan whispering stab scene while coward cries in the stairwell instead of helping.
- American History X curb stomping. Savage as f***.

Add this one to the list:
The ending of the original Halloween movie where Michael Myers ends up being shot multiple times, falls off the balcony and appears to be dead, but he's gone when the psychiatrist looks again. I saw this movie in the theater in 1978. I was 13 yo and disturbed by how this sumbeach wouldn't just DIE ALREADY!!! I know the bad guy who won't die is old hat these days, but back then, everybody in the theater cussed like a sailor each time Myers got up after we all thought he was finished.

The scene in Hannibal when Lecter feeds Paul his own brain at dinner. Gore/Horror movie type stuff doesn't bother me, but for some reason, that scene did.

There was a scene in one of the Exorcist sequels that was brilliantly filmed. Long shot of a hallway with mundane stuff going on for about 2 minutes. You see a guy walk out of a room and then right after him some creepy ass killer follows him out and is going to kill him.

I've got a pretty good stomach for freaky stuff these days. Generally, I've seen a lot worse in real life. I don't often watch the torture porn type of films because they are over the top pointless. I don't get any entertainment out of watching movies like Hostel where the point of the plot is to provide a gross anatomy lesson with screaming. So while I could point to scenes from kinds of horror films that are disturbing, it's not the actual scene that disturbs me, but rather that some hack thought up that scene sans any meaningful plot or character development (see the Pteranodon scene in Jurassic World that delights in torturing a minor character who did zilch to deserve it).

The bugs scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a more effective disturbing scene to me than 90% of stuff I see in horror films.

I enjoy horror movies so most stuff might make me "jump" but doesn't necessarily make me feel "disturbed".

But for some strange reason, I remember watching Castaway in theaters and being really uncomfortable during the scene in the beginning when the plane is going down.
