As far as spoilers go, once a movie is out of theaters, then spoilers should be fine unless the OP specifically says he has not seen the movie. If you haven't seen a movie that has been out for 2 years then you should stay off the thread.
quote:Like I said, I love monster movies. That version, as great as it is, has next to nothing to do with the 1982 version.
Not to mention that the original THE THING came out in 1951.
quote:Your lack of reading comprehension is troubling.quote:no. and obviously people are talking about scenes. but, to purposely post one is still kind of ****ty.quote:
dude come on. delete that ****. let the guy watch the movie without purposely spoiling some of it.
To be fair, are you really spoiler safe on a thread about a movie that came out almost 2 years ago?
and trust me, i'm pretty ok with people discussing spoilers. the guy who started this has not seen the movie. maybe he's read about it. maybe he hasn't but come on.
quote:I think this is probably correct. As for him being a ghost, that's an interesting perspective that I'd never considered. It is difficult to align the scenes in the hospital room when he first awoke and his conversation with the kid who studied him in high school to him being a ghost.
Uh, not trying to sound like a jerk, honest, but I think maybe you two are simply overthinking the ending. Like I said in a post above, IMO, the ending is simply a matter of Nolan not wanting to bring the emotion of the ending to a screeching halt by putting in long scenes of him chit-chatting with Murphy. We don't need to see that....we need to see that he held up his promise to return to her, and now he's going to go hold up his other promise of finding Anne Hathaway and an actual habitable planet for humankind.

This scene in IMAX.

I loved that movie. Hans Zimmer killed the score like he always does.
But that movie confirmed one thing for me...I'm way too stupid to ever be an astronaut.
The other thing I find Nolan to be exceptional at, is regardless of how complicated or convoluted the plot of his movie may be...he still makes you connect to the characters emotionally. YOu buy inMalachi Constant said:
Really awesome movie. Nolan's plots can be difficult to follow the first time through, but it's fun to rewatch because even though the plot points can be unrealistic, they're all usually "set up" really well.

I got to watch this movie for the first time about 15 months ago when I was off on paternity leave with my first daughter. It's one of those movies where my wife got super pissed at me for correctly guessing the ending. I took several advanced physics classes while at A&M so understood a little bit of the concepts.
Even with that, the movie let me and my wife discuss and look up the concepts. We were both fascinated and in awe of the movie.
We actually didn't understand what the fuss was about in the first 45 minutes of the movie but became one of our favorite movies of all time.
The above poster is 1000% correct in that it hits men more than women…. My goodness.

This is one that I think gets better over time.
I put it up there with Inception, Prestige, Dark Knight as Nolan's best.

Hit me hard before a daughter, now that I have two it might murder me.
I think this may be my favorite Nolan film as time goes on. Not to mention Zimmers best work which is saying something in my eyes as a big Zimmer fan.
