I just watched this movie years later for the second time. I enjoyed it much more this time. I embarrassingly admit, the first time I watched it, it was quite a bit for me to grasp. Honestly, it still is. The relationship with Cooper (matthew mcconaughey) and Murph (his daughter) really tugs at my heart strings because I have a daughter. The scene where he is floating in the 4th dimension is still kinda hard for me to grasp but I get the gist of what they are trying to convey.

If you've only seen it once I really recommend you watch it again. It's streaming on Hulu now.

Took me a couple viewings myself and once I got passed the whole "we're connected by love" nonsense I learned to like it.

It instantly became one of my all-time favorites when I first watched it.

The guy who came up with the idea and basic "bones" for the movie, theorectical physicist Kip Thorne, wrote an absolutely fantastic book to accompany it. It explains the concepts in the movie and much, much more about space, tying them into things you saw in the movie. He has a great way of presenting it for the everyday person to grasp. I highly recommend it.

Realize that love is just how we conceptualize quantum entanglement and you'll feel better....or at least have a nerdy explanation for people that question that, lol

Do two scientists in love tell each other "I quantum entanglement you"?

I loved that movie. Hans Zimmer killed the score like he always does.

But that movie confirmed one thing for me...I'm way too stupid to ever be an astronaut.

3/4 of the movie was one of the greatest sci fi movies of all time. I absolutely hated the last 30 minutes.

I normally process a movie that I have just seen in the hours immediately after leaving the theater.

In this case, I chose to see Interstellar on a Saturday in the fall, on a date where I fully expected misery given how that '14 season had unfolded. I was in the theater when the Aggies were unloading hell on Auburn behind Kyle Allen's TD passes, 4 of 'em I believe it was.

When I left the theater I noticed a football game on the TV that was in the bar area of the theater, the Katy Mills AMC. I walked over and was shocked to see that the Aggies were up big. I immediately forgot the movie completely and dove into my Aggie football frame of mind. We listened to the last, say, 10 minutes of the game on the radio driving from the theater to the home of some friends who were hosting a party that night. It was total euphoria and I had completely forgotten everything about Interstellar.

I did, recall having seen it and having liked it, but it was not until I got the BluRay when I got to watch it again, analyze it and come to the conclusion that it was one of the 2-3 best science fiction movies I have ever seen.

I saw it three times in the theatre. I never do that. I thought about it for weeks.

It's not a perfect movie, but it's damn close.

If you have an unhealthy obsession with the movie like I do, read the IMDb message boards and you'll likely learn Some of story's finer points.

Oh, I'm in the minority because I really enjoyed the final 30 minutes tesseract stuff.

Ditto, I liked everything about the movie, including the parts that others are saying they didn't like.

I have watched it twice. I didn't enjoy it the second time either but I'm pretty dumb, so there's that.

It was the first movie that lived up to its expectations for me after having followed it since pre production (which I dont do for tons of movies obviously).

Incredibly well put together movie, need to get another viewing it soon.

"years later" as in a year and 1/2? Came out in Nov 2014.

But, I did love this movie. I should probably watch again, I didn't see in theater but about a year ago on DTV.

Interstellar was/is phenomenally done. Plenty of physicists have weighed in on it and said that it got plenty right. They also understand that a person is making a movie. So, some license has to be taken.

He also did a companion issue of Wired (along with Christopher Nolan) that's excellent.

Gravity is alright but it's a fairly superficial movie. It looks amazing but there's really not much there. IMO.

It also butchered so much of the basic science that it made it hard for me to watch. It is a beautiful movie though.

Gravity is one of the most intense movie experiences in my recent memory. It's also one of the best sounding and shot movies I've seen in a long time. In retrospect, it reminds me of Mad Max: Fury Road. Beautiful on screen and superb sound, but pretty linear plot. I really liked both movies and will watch them when they are on.

That being said, Interstellar is a far superior movie in my opinion.

He is fantastic in Interstellar as well as several other films recently. Dallas Buyers Club and Mud were pretty good.

Terrible reason not to watch an instant classic.
