Where are you getting this?
More importantly, what does any of that have to do with Civil War?
Because it is just easy to compare to very similar comic book movies.

I'd understand if the post was in any way comparing the two, but I guess I'm not seeing what you're seeing.

and what was in Starks trunk? 5 bags of blood?

My assumption is that it was the super soldier serum or something similar. Especially when you see the flashback scene where the one guy beats WS and then you see all 5 easily beating down the guards.

You also see blue stuff in IV bags for the super soldiers in one of the flash backs.

WB has to be rethinking zach Snyder's level of involvement right now if they weren't already because Civil War kicked some major ass making a similar movie.

That is how I took it.

Did everyone's movie also just start.....like outta the blue, a movie preview ended then BOOM, it just started and it never said the title of the movie until the end of the movie in the credits also no standard marvel comic reel at the start, which I thought was off.... Like watching iron man 3 now....starts off with some stuff then does the comic reel and title, then movie starts
I think your's was broken. Mine started with the Marvel Reel. I do think several of the Marvel movies haven't shown the title till the end, which is something I never understood

I won't hit upon the film similarities between BvS and CW and how CW did them better because that's already been brought up.

The biggest win Marvel has over DC/WB after this movie is anticipation for what is coming next. CW is good enough to warrant repeat views at the theater, BvS is not. Marvel has everyone looking forward to Infinity War as well as the stand alone Black Panther film.

Is there anywhere near the excitement for Justice League or the Wonder Woman film that can match those?

Marvel hitched their wagon to the Russo brothers and Kevin Feige, zach Snyder is pretty weak by comparison.

And for my final point, Marvel fixed Spider-Man for Sony.

If anyone at DC/WB isn't questioning putting zach Snyder at the helm right now they have their heads in the sand.

There's plenty of those already. Uhhh... At least that's what I've heard.

Honestly, I don't even know what a "porn parody" is.

I just got home from seeing this and thought it was very good, though it didn't quite blow me away.

Cons:
-Beyond the opening action sequence, the first third of the movie or so was both slow and rushed at the same time. It was slow in that it felt like not a lot happened that had consequence to it (the action sequence capturing Bucky felt like moving chess pieces around a board). It was rushed because some the scenes didn't have much depth. Like when we meet Black Panther and his father and then instantly kill the father. I think spending even five more minutes on that relationship could have paid off with a more impactful moment when the father died. I'm usually a sucker for getting the feels when folks die in movies, and I felt nothing when the bomb went off.
-The main villain felt flimsy to me and was almost non-existent, though in hindsight I realize this was by design to keep the focus on the Avengers, so it's a minor complaint. For too much of the movie I was both wondering who the villain was and if I cared. I guess I just wish I could have had my cake and eaten it too with both a start-to-finish compelling villain and the focus they had on the Avengers' internal struggles.

Pros:
-The rest of the movie was solid
-Fun action sequences
-Spider man was perfect
-Ant man becoming giant man was a great surprise
-The good guys kind of lost this one, with the team basically disbanded. I think the movie did a good job with its final consequences.
-Marvel continues to show it moes how to make movies that are FUN.
-I thought it was funny how the end of this was the opposite of the end of BVS. In BVS, mentioning a mother brought two people together in a really random way. In this, iron man learning Bucky killed his mother sparked an emotional fight and conflict, and combined with what Zemo and Black Panther were going through, really hit home the movie's themes on vengeance being a destructive force.

Currently I'd give it a B+, but I'm a tough grader and that might improve the more I think about it.

Why Civil War beats BvS in this round Marvel vs DC

What I find funny is that Civil War and BvS are basically the same movie.

You have a normal human (Zemo/Lex Luthor) who wants to tear apart the hero.

In the end both human are capture and put in prison

In the background, the public have turned against heroes for the damage they cause and governments are force to act. (Accords/commission)

While this is going on the two main hero families are used against them to force them to fight each other .. in both an indirect way and direct way. Zemo - indirect (Bucky) direct (Stark Family death) .. Luthor - indirect (Wayne employee death) direct (Stealing Martha)

Both movies used mother names to connect characters .. Bucky tells Capt his mom name .. and Martha for BvS

In the end the hero join together to fight a worse common villain.. here is where the movie become different

So what makes them different
BvS the hero fight the villain (Doomsday) for a 30+ min third act .. Civil War killed off the third random villain w/o a fight (4 Winter Soldier)

So both movie are long.. Marvel spent their extra minutes on developing characters and plots

Also in BvS one of the main hero dies (Superman) while in Civil War .. they easily could have killed Capt America but instead choose to have a symbolic death of Iron Man .. in the end I think this is what makes

Appreciate the spoiler on BvS in a Captain America thread.

Oh yeah, and one question: At the very start, did I not hear right, or did Crossbones tell Steve that Hydra had recaptured Bucky and reprogrammed him? That left me confused much of the movie because I was expecting a bigger hydra connection, and then wondering if Crossbones and Zemo had a connection or if I'd misheard what he'd said.

The movie has been out for a month. That's plenty enough time to either have read the wiki for the movie or seen it in theaters.

He believe he was referring to the scene in TWS where Redford had his mind wiped after his encounter with Cap. He embellished to f*** with him.

I think he was talking of the events we saw in TWS. After Steve realized that Bucky was TWS and called out his name, I think Bucky asked who he was or something like that.

Am I missing something, but didn't the bad guy release 1 of the 5 winter soldiers? I thought I saw 1 of the 5 pods open and empty when Cap and Bucky entered the chamber. Didn't they only show 4 of the dead soldiers with bullets through the glass?

That movie is fantastic.

Shaky cam bothered me a little. No biggie.

One question. They blame scarlet witch for the bomb, but if she does nothing, it goes off in the busy marketplace. Is the viewpoint that if the Avengers aren't there, it doesn't happen?

That's what I figured. I believe there were 4 packs of blood in Stark's trunk to make 4 WS + Bucky was already there.

I'm almost certian there was 5.

So what was crossbones trying to steal then? No ones talks about that?

Also when zemo orders breakfast and the lady delivers it. But he doesn't let her in and takes it at the door, the camera pans out and shows what looked to be a chamber in the other room

It was just generic bioweapon. I thought at first it might be a vial of Banner's blood, given the other Hulk nods in the film, but they never identify it.

Thought that was pretty good. A little long with some rather poor and choppy editing in the first thirty minutes, but after that it was quite stellar. Chris Evans is definitely my favorite Avenger.

I'm a loose follower of the comics, so I had a vague notion of the comic version of this story; but I'm glad that the film stuck with the strong stance against big government. I was afraid that the end would be something like "lots of government is a good thing and only has your best interests in mind".

So, I avoided reviews and any type of spoilers on this movie and was completely surprised when Giantman showed up. Thought it was a fantastic surprise. I was just curious if it really was a surprise for everyone, or had word leaked or Marvel let the cat out of the bag and I had simply been able to avoid finding out. That seems a huge thing to keep under wraps (pun intended), and one more thing Civil War beats BvS on. Imagine if WB had managed to keep Wonder Woman a secret until she popped up in the movie, instead of plastering her all over the commercials?

DC/WB is playing checkers while Marvel is playing chess.

At the end, Zemo starts the sequence of German words again while being interrogated. Was that his way of not cooperating or was Bilbo a hidden soldier?

That's a thing that Christopher Nolan made popular. The idea of no intro or credits until the end of the film. He wasn't the first to do it (The Coen Brothers have done it before), but he definitely made it mainstream.

You are imagining that part lol.

Bilbo is taunting him and says, basically, was it worth it to go through all that only to have it fail?

Zemo replies, "Did it?"
