Good movie! Fully enjoyable with both the right amount of light heartedness, and depth of emotions for a summer blockbuster.

Some random thoughts:
- It's awesome to finally see a New Yorker spiderman. Spiderman definitely was forced, but was so well pulled off.
- Same goes for Black Panther to me (again felt forced but well done)
- This had perhaps the best side-kick of amy comic book movie, and it did so with two! Falcon was awesome throughout and was implemented perfectly as a side-kick, and then you get Bucky as another great side-kick with an emotional connection.
- Couldn't Vision just have finished the airport fight in a minute?
- Couldn't the fight also have ended with Cap saying "guys chill, I'm going to fight this bad guy in a remote part of Siberia with no one around before he unleashes a bunch more bad guys"?
- Glad Don Cheadle is gonna be around for more MCU
- which has me thinking: I get they are on opposite sides now, but could we get a Hawkeye and War Machine movie please?
- Paul Rudd is the man. Hopefully Ant Man and Starlord will get to have an extended scene in the future.

Also his feelings for Scarlet Witch were clearly affecting him in ways he didn't imagine

TeamStark at this point was trying to SAVE TeamCap. If they let Cap go, then Ross was going to send SpecOps after him.

My understanding is that the most OP of the Marvel fighters is Scarlet Witch much more so than Vision, and the scene where she basically buries him gives a glimpse of that even though he clearly doesn't fight back.

Why did Zemo kill the other winter soldiers? Was it just because he didn't care about them and all he wanted to do was hurt the Avengers?

Thanks for adding it, hope it helps others. I think there are a lot of us that were waiting to see it on dvd since the reviews and word of mouth kept us from wanting to spend any money on it in the theatre. I've been staying away from all the dc threads cause I didn't want to know much more, but didn't expect it to pop up on a marvel thread.

Thought it was ok. Entertaining but after the opening fight sequence, the next 30-40 min were kinda boring. Overall, thought this was right in line with the past few Marvel movies. Convoluted plot, great action and humor, no true impact to anything going forward. The money machine remains intact.

Question:
Was there any purpose to the biological weapon Crossbones was trying to steal? Did we ever learn if it was anything special or what?

If you're waiting to see a movie on DVD, you don't really have any cause to expe t people to protect you from spoilers.

Agree. Also, I really enjoyed BvS. Critics keep trying to get DC to be more like Marvel, but I like the contrast. Marvel has the lighthearted, comedy feel and DC has the darker, violent, more ominous feel to it. I know the latter doesn't usually sell quite as well as the former, but I enjoy it.

Never said I expected it. Just said I was staying away from threads where i thought it would pop up. Beyond that, it's just a courtesy.

There was a reference in Age of Ultron that is where the Vibranium came from.

In the scene where Bucky's Arm is stuck to the electromagnet and Cap and Falcon are trying to figure out what to do, they talk about how they can't ask Tony for help since he would most likely not believe it so therefore they have to go rogue.

And later, when Tony actually believes them and takes the issue to the government, William Hurt responds something like, "Why would I listen to you?" It then shows Tony's face as he realizes what he's done.

Overall I thought the movie was great, but was I the only person bugged by the timeless travel between continents?

  • Bucky escapes Berlin - Zemu flies to Siberia
  • Stark flies to New York to get Peter Parker
  • Fight at Liepzig
  • Stark and crew fly back to the Avengers compound while Cap and Bucky go to Siberia
  • Stark flies to the Raft
  • Stark flies to Siberia and lands minutes after Cap/Bucky who landed a couple of hours after Zemu

Yes, I know its a comics movie, but it still bugged me

Not only did stark fly to the raft, but he did so in a storm in a helicopter.

Must have borrowed some of that fancy 24 dimension where you can get anywhere in LA in 15 minutes.

Airbus's new supersonic passenger jet will do NY to London in an hour. That level of tech, which Stark and the Avengers easily have, eliminates some of the issues.

That's is pretty cool, I hadn't heard of the Airbus jet, so I went and looked it up. I have some reservations about flying on a plane that, in the design drawings, has flames shooting out the ass end of it.

quick question about Giant Man. As Ant Man he maintains human strength right? Does he keep human strength as a giant, or does his strength increase also?

That's a thing that Christopher Nolan made popular. The idea of no intro or credits until the end of the film. He wasn't the first to do it (The Coen Brothers have done it before), but he definitely made it mainstream.
Ummmmm....That was made popular a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

I was so disappointed at the end, as the camera panned across the avengers in prison. They missed a huge opportunity to play "Hooked on a feeling." Then have the camera pan across all the knocked out soldiers, as Cap walks out of the shadows and throws a prosthetic leg on the ground.

Another good way to end would have been to have ants infest the prison, and then the Wasp appears.

The first thing that happens in Star Wars is the intro with the movie title.

So what exactly are Black Panther's powers? Is he just a really bad ass dude in a cool suit?

He eats a special Heart-Shaped Herb which, in addition to his mystical connection with the Wakandan Panther God, grants him superhumanly acute senses, enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, durability, healing and reflexes

He's pretty on par with Cap, with the benefit of a bulletproof suit, I would say.

Even though it was ruined in trailers, spiderman just easily catching Winter Soliders iron punch was awesome. They NAILED how spiderman should be in this movie, can't wait for his own film.

Even this thread had a good discussion. Cap beat him because of Cap's knowledge of hand to hand fighting, improvising, and tactics. Spidey has only had his powers a few months. Good interpretation.

Falcon and Bucky cracked me up the entire film. That dynamic was great!

"I hate you." -Sam
