Would have been worth it for the Scouring of the Shire!
Couldn't "Scour the Shire" because Jackson killed Saruman too soon. At the conclusion of that scene, I almost screamed at the screen "How the Hell are you going to end the film now?"

Annoyed then, and still annoyed now.

The endings of Powder, Birdman, A Clockwork Orange, Citizen Kane and Debbie Does Dallas were all equally great. Because I hated all those movies and couldn't wait for them to end!

Ha, that's a great choice I'd have never thought of.

Apparently the original ending was supposed to be them getting on the bus, but Jim Carrey came up with the whole "the town is that way" and got them to go with that instead. Frustrating but hilarious and perfect.

As others mentioned in the previous posts, the ending of Whiplash was genius. I really enjoyed that one. I also forgot about the usual suspects and Casablanca. They definitely have to be included.
