Ok!!! I stayed up until 3:00 am to give this another shot. I have to say that viewing it with an open mind really made a difference. I now see that this is not just a movie, but a glimpse inside a man's soul. When JCVD put his own life at risk during his blindness to save the referee, I just about lost it. I apologize for my earlier negativity and cynicism.

Just watched it via Criterion Collection DVD
quote:Absolutely. Any JCVD fan growing up needs to watch his scene when he breaks through the 4th wall. I was almost crying with him.
By the way, if you haven't watch JCVD you are missing out.
quote:Awesome. Nice bit of acting. I need to see this movie
Here is his monologue in the movie JCVD, and in pretty terrible quality.
If you are not going to take the time to see the whole movie JCVD which is really good, at least you have to see this part I was talking about. It's nothing like the rest of the movie. It just happens in the middle of it. In the movie, he plays himself.
Still, it's better to see it in context of the entire movie.

Also, this is JCVD's daughter... truly the greatest man to ever live
