1. The kid playing a young JCVD is quite possibly the worst actor I have ever seen.

2. JCVD has to be the most narcissistic actor ever.

3. The fight scenes are just terrible.

I loved this movie as a kid. How could I have been so wrong?

I felt the same way about the movie Hackers. I watched it when it came out, back in the early 90s. I re-watched it a few years ago and it absolutely killed it for me!

Ever since that experience I stay from all of the movies I loved when I was a kid because in reality, they were all truly terrible.

In all seriousness, Bloodsport represents the true American spirit despite a meddling government trying to squash a dream. Coupled with a classic love story, both men and women will enjoy this cinematic jewel.

Just looked on IMDB - the dude who played Chong LI is older than my parents for God's sake. He was 42 the year Bloodsport came out.

OP, all of us except you have watched this movie numerous times in probably the last 3-6 months. It's not like we all took a 25 year break from it.

Maybe you should watch it again and focus on how badass Frank Dux and Ogre are.......crazy eye Forest Whitaker does a superb job.

Ok!!! I stayed up until 3:00 am to give this another shot. I have to say that viewing it with an open mind really made a difference. I now see that this is not just a movie, but a glimpse inside a man's soul. When JCVD put his own life at risk during his blindness to save the referee, I just about lost it. I apologize for my earlier negativity and cynicism.
