That one works.
quote:dammit i already said this!!quote:My thoughts on this one is that basically plan B survived and allowed the species to survive. But something else went awry in the future-- maybe some genetic fault in those eggs or something, that made the future humans feel the need to save the earth population as well.
If the wormhole was created by future humans then it would have to mean humans already survived to that point. In which case they would not need to create it to save humans from going extinct.

Why in the world did Murph light the crops on fire??? Almost everything about that sequence made little sense. It felt like Nolan was just trying to create drama to match what was going on in space so he'd have something to cut to. Murph goes up to her room ... then comes back downstairs ... the family gets into a fight and she's told to leave ... so she lights crops on fire and tells the family to flee ... then she goes back upstairs to wander at the room a bit longer ... and then her brother just takes her crazy ramblings as fact and hugs it out ... moments after being willing to let his family die because he thought Doctor's theories were crazy? If Murph knew the answer was in her room (as she said before heading there) why not just stay in the room til she figures it out?

One question
How the **** did he get ejected out of the black hole and into Saturn orbit?
He would have to been ejected back into the worm hole while shaking what's her tits hand then found shortly there after?
Time frames don't add up

This one seemed obvious to me. She had given up, and halfway back to the station she decided "no, you know what, there's something there". Her brother had already banished her and Topher from the house, so she lit the crops on fire to draw him out for a little bit. It kept him occupied so she could find out what was happening in her room.
quote:I'm not sure that the movie is saying that being with your children is more important than saving the world.
No matter how big of a reason you think you have. No matter if it is to even save the entire world. It simply isn't worth missing out on your children's lives and being there for them in the end.

Rather, the movie may be trying to make us understand the price that heroes pay to save us: a good Veteran's Day movie if there ever was one.
One of the things that occurred to me as the movie showed the anguish in both daughter and father at their separation is how many men and women have endured just that separation to keep us free.

I originally had this thought while watching the scene of MM in the black hole crying out to his daughter. "This entire movie is about not missing out on your kids lives." I got away from that with the final act of the movie that showed MM back in our galaxy. But I think I was initially right.

My fast opinion on the movie: This is a great movie for anyone who loves science fiction and has never seen a real Worm Hole.

quote:That's what I thought at first but it seemed like they put it out relatively easily, plus Topher clearly expected the brother to get back soon. So I guess it was just a diversion.quote:

I agree with this.

After sitting with my first viewing for a day I've really hit the conclusion that all the science stuff that my mind has been trying to make sense of really misses the core of the movie.

I'm guessing he might have had similar thoughts with his own children seeing how big of a movie mogul he has become.
The entire movie was a cool way to wrap up a simple but important message.
Then again, perhaps I am just biased since the whole dad leaving thing hits close to home with me.
