Its obviously one of the spacecraft from the Alien franchise.

That Trident is a ridiculously powerful piece of weaponry.

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Trident_of_Neptune

Wonder woman's sword is enchanted by Hephaestus to be able to cut through literally anything like it is not even there and is also indestructible. It's a perfect weapon for someone as powerful as Wonder Woman.

Her shield is also indestructible and is capable of blocking anything. For someone with superspeed, it's a great weapon.

Both Aquaman and Wonder Woman have heavy magic based origins and are directly associated with the Greek Gods.

That's very exciting...by any chance did Hephaestus also give someone at DC a magical typewriter that can produce a decent screenplay for these characters?

This basically reads as gibberish to me, as almost no effort is made to explain what a "motherbox" is, but I figured someone here probably knows. Assuming it's essentially DC's version of an Infinity Stone?

DC is really bad at naming things. It's like a mechanical "do anything" computer, that is also a brain. Or something.

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we were briefly introduced to the motherboxes, three devices that will be important to the DCEU's overarching mythology, and which Justice League villain Steppenwolf is after, in service of the even bigger threat in this universe, Darkseid.

DC will have to change Darkseid's appearance because he looks so much like Thanos. That will be an interesting conundrum.

Also I forgot Steppenwolf was the villain. They'll have to trick up his character as well. In the comics he's basically the red shirt of the New Gods and just dies at the drop of a hat.

Think of it as like a sentient computer with the ability to manipulate reality. It can give a normal human the capability to physically go up against Superman.

It's not nearly as powerful as an Infinity Stone. Rather it's just a New God invention.

The equivalent to an Infinity Stone in DC would be the Anti-Life Equation, which is why Darkseid is invading. The Anti-Life Equation would allow Darkseid to literally remove free will from the universe and also rewrite the universe in his image. Given that Darkseid is essentially the physical manifestation of Tyranny in DC, it's no surprise that he craves it.

A really great piece from Forbes on the state of The Batman. If true, this would definitely be welcomed news...

Quote:

That the script would need more rewrites, particularly with a new director joining the picture, was a given. How extensive the process will be I'm hearing anything from "major rewrites" to "a completely new script," including starting from scratch on the story if that's what it takes is unclear, not just to us but probably to those involved as well, since the new filmmaker might look at the story and script and decide there's plenty to salvage that appeals to them. Once the director is in place, more will become clear, but for now Warner Bros. is suffering far more negative perceptions than they need to, simply because of the attempt to slow and control the spread of information. The fear this causes and the speculation arising from that fear is far worse than whatever reaction resulted from putting the current known information out there for public consumption. Likewise, the more the press and public get the impression they can't trust public statements and the more the flow of information is slowed and controlled, the more it feeds the perception that larger problems loom for the DCU.

They'll have to get crackin' in the coming months for Gotham City Sirens to make 2018, wouldn't they? I mean it's only February, but things will have to get rolling before too long to keep both it and Aquaman from both coming out in late 2018 and having nothing for early or mid.

Then again, Marvel has February, May and (I think) July 2018 releases and nothing after, so maybe you can try and lock down the period after July.

Also, based on that article, at this point, this would seem to be the tentative plan - and I cannot stress tentative enough - for the DC slate going froward...

2017

06.02 - Wonder Woman (post-production)
11.17 - Justice League (post-production)

2018

10.05 - Aquaman (pre-production)
TBA - The Flash (in development, could be 2019)
TBA - Gotham City Sirens (in development, could be 2019)

2019

TBA - The Batman (in development)
TBA - Man of Steel 2 (in development)
TBA - Shazam / Black Adam Two-Film Project (Part 1) (in development, could be 2020)

2020

TBA - Cyborg (in development)
TBA - Green Lantern Corps (in development)
TBA - Shazam / Black Adam Two-Film Project (Part 2) (in development, could be 2021)

If Wonder Woman is even mildly successful in June, and by then WB will know exactly what the have with Justice League as well, then my bet would be that WB will have their set-in-stone plans finally ready to announce by Comic-Con in July, and will debut the new/updated slate then.

Yeah, 2018 seems generous for Gotham City Sirens. Only other movie they might be able to fast-track by then would be The Flash. Otherwise, 2018 is looking pretty sparse for DC, because it sounds like The Batman was supposed to be their big summer movie for that year. That said, I still think Justice League could move from November 2017. Seems like such a weird time to release it, in the six-week gap between Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It's a long shot, but if DC has nothing else, and Wonder Woman is a hit, I could see Justice League moving to March 2018.

If Logan, Power Rangers, and the other big pop culture movies hit well at the box office in March, and the Flash and Sirens flicks are pushed to 2019 leaving Aquaman all alone... what are the odds Justice League gets pushed to March 2018?

keep it all in perspective... at least Joel Schumacher isn't involved any more

http://www.darkhorizons.com/coolio-still-upset-over-losing-batman-role/

"Batman & Robin was the only Batman that didn't make money. I'm still sore about that a little bit, cause the only reason I did that part is because they promised me the villain part in the following Batman, which they didn't do, because Joel Schumacher they fired him. [] He was supposed to do the two next ones. He and I didn't get along that good anyway I mean he made a terrible Batman movie. But the next villain was supposed to be The Scarecrow. They didn't do it though. Maybe one day. I'm sure they won't come calling, though."

We have a Justice League synopsis: http://screenrant.com/justice-league-movie-synopsis-steppenwolf-mother-box/

Quote:

In the wake of Clark Kent/Superman's (Cavill) death at the hands of Doomsday in BvS, vigilante Bruce Wayne/Batman (Affleck) reevaluates his extreme methods and begins reaching out to extraordinary heroes to assemble a team of crime-fighters to defend earth from all kinds of threats. Together with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gadot), Batman seeks out cybernetically enhanced former college football star Vic Stone/Cyborg (Fisher), speedster Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) and Atlantean warrior king Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Momoa). They face off against Steppenwolf (Hinds), the herald and second-in-command to alien warlord Darkseid, who is charged by Darkseid with hunting down three artifacts hidden on Earth.

not to rag on BvS too much, but what exactly was Batman's motivation from fighting Superman to being best buds? was it just that they both had motherboxes with the same name?

He goes from wanting to kill Superman, to joining with superman to seeking out other heroes with superpowers and being friends with them. how come he doesn't mistrust them. I would think he'd have a way to defeat any one of them in case they go rogue.
TCTTS

That was the movie I always wanted to see; Batman being part of the Justice League, but simultaneously being the one who kind of had dirt on all of them, and was always - sometimes even creepily - keeping surveillance on each member. If I'm not mistaken, that was the basic plot of the George Miller version from a decade or so ago that had been completely cast, but fell apart right before production.

Instead, it looks like we're getting the version where Batman has essentially already come to respect and need the team, though there will apparently still be some beef between he and Superman as to who's in charge, once Superman is resurrected.

A group of heroes have to race an evil army to three powerful pieces of a weapon that was scattered across the globe?

Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah......the G.I. Joe cartoon mini-series where Cobra's Weather Dominator broke into three pieces and the Joes had to race to each piece before Cobra Commander could retrieve them and finish his world-destroying device.
