Except he's never done that. You must be confusing him with someone else. Also, sunshine pumpers are synonymous with being proven wrong, when he's the exact opposite. Weekend after weekend his projections are spot-on.

Well before anyone else, he was the first to go out on a limb and say Brand New Day was going to be anywhere close to this big, and now he's been proven right yet again. Since then, nothing he's said in any of these tweets is exaggerated or untrue. Multiple outlets now have Brand New Day pegged to do $900M+ domestically, which *is*, objectively, threatening The Force Awakens record. Will it surpass it? Probably not. But the fact that it's likely going to be within less than $36M of it is bat**** insane and worth every exclamation point.

Dude is passionate, yes, but he doesn't spin or bull*****

If Spiderman gets close to TFA, I will empty my 401K to build a movie theater, lease TFA, make the tickets $10,000 each, and buy out the theater over and over.

I exaggerated a little just to joke. No offense meant to whoever he is or certainly not you for posting it. And yes, a FOURTH Holland SpiderMan movie opening this huge is certainly worthy of some superlatives.

It is kind of funny that Marvel is using all of the Brand New Day hype/love as cover to officially cancel both Blade and Wonder Man season two. But they're still getting a ton bad press for each, so they were like, "Uhhh, here! Samara Weaving is Emma Frost! Isn't that the perfect casting?!"

Granted, now that we know the identity/cast members of two X-Men roles, it's looking more and more likely that the rest of (or at least a good chunk of) the X-Men cast is going to be announced at D23 next month, which is pretty cool.

But I do have to ask how you came across the ItsJat32 guy. Not that I question what he puts out either, I'm just curious how you came across him, lol.

I LOVE when studios quickly rush out the old time-tested "Look over here!" distraction method whenever there's unfavorable news.

"Wait a minute? People cared about Season 2 of Wonder Man getting canceled?! But the ratings are horrible on that!! What gives? And what do we do?"

"Release some X-men casting news!"

"But that's all intricately secreted away and planned for a big reveal at D23!"

"I don't care, just do it now! There's a vocal minority on X that's mad about Wonder Man getting canceled!"

That guy I don't really know. Ha, in fact, I had to look up his handle because I didn't recognize who you were talking about from that handle alone. But I just started following him a few weeks ago, after I kept seeing others I trust retweet him over the past couple months or so. What I do like about him, though, is that he's often very quick / first to report numbers, especially at random, late-night hours (due to perhaps living in India?), and has been accurate so far.

Reminds me of a couple of times when the Astros would fire their manager or make a terrible trade when the Oilers were on Monday Night Football in the 1980s.

I hadn't seen the Doomsday trailer until I saw it today before the Spider Man movie.

As I said in that thread, I'm not really in their target audience anymore, but I thought it was just meh. I know I'm in the minority.

But as far as Thor's speech...

- We must all come together and put away our petty differences.
- We will need a miracle to survive...blah, blah, blah...

I mean haven't we already seen this trope ad nauseum?

I digress...

Just got out.
Incredible movie.
I think it might be the best Spider-Man movie ever but I'm overly tired and riding vacay high so need to rewatch.
Theater was sold out for 11pm showing and many Spider-Man suits in attendance. Including workers.
Really enjoyed it though.
Will rewatch it at least once more for sure.

It feels like the X-Men cast is finally starting to come together. As of tonight, these are the latest reliable casting scoops from Jeff Sneider and other credible reporters…

OFFICAL

- Sadie Sink as Jean Grey

- Samara Weaving as Emma Frost

HEAVILY RUMORED (aka basically done deals)

- Charles Melton as Beast / Hank McCoy

- Cailee Spaeny as Rogue / Anna Marie

GAINING TRACTION

- Drew Starkey as Cyclops / Scott Summers

- Either Bill Skarsgard or Tom Pelphrey as Professor X / Charles Xavier

- Adam Driver as Mister Sinister / Dr. Nathaniel Essex

ADDITIONAL RELIABLE RUMORS

- Storm is being personally cast by Ryan Coogler, as the character will appear in Black Panther III. Whether she first appears in X-Men (likely to release in 2028 prior to BPIII) is unknown.

- Nightcrawler may appear in Ghost Rider. Whether he first appears in X-Men (likely to release in 2028 prior to Ghost Rider) is unknown.

- If all deals can be finalized in the next two weeks, the cast will be announced at D23 on Friday, August 14th.

NOTE: No idea if this would be the entire lineup or not. That said, no other characters have been as consistently rumored, but that doesn't mean others won't appear.

Just got home. Amazing movie. There was a six year old kid sitting next to me and he actually made the movie even better. He was so into it... "Watch out!!!" "Behind you Spidey!!!" "Spider-Man NOOOO!!!!"

A lot of speculation/smoke that Marvel is getting out of the TV series game altogether. Both VisionQuest and season three of Daredevil have filmed their respective seasons, but Marvel has no other shows that are in development or are planning to shoot. Season two of Wonder Man was going to be the next, but now that that's scrapped, Marvel will seemingly be wiping their hands clean of TV series after spring of next year. Heading into the post-Secret Wars soft reboot phase, that's honestly probably for the best...

Agreed. The MCU became this amazing juggernaut of a franchise without all these little spin-off shows.

Just make good movies.

Yeah but Disney likely pushed them to make television content so they would have something fresh to put on Disney + channel. You can only watch reruns of old Disney and Star Wars and Marvel movies so many times.

Well, Brand New Day is doing this *without* IMAX theaters, which usually make up about 15-20% of the total gross, while End Game did release in IMAX. So, all things considered, let's call it even…

Getting out of TV sounds good, but with X-Men around the corner, it's kind of a shame. I've always thought that with Disney+, the movies could stay focused on the existential threats like Magneto and Apocalypse, but you'd have an avenue for smaller-scale stories like Gambit & Rogue or things like that.

Agree. I also would accept a couple of "TV" movies to supplement the theater movies a year. Just smaller stories with the main characters or lesser characters.

They could still do that while avoiding the "tv show homework" situation they created.
