Does that mean that Doomsday is or isn't a multiverse movie? Because clearly someone is going to notice that Dr Doom looks a whole lot like Tony Stark, right?

Jonathan majors slapped the multiverse out of existence.

You'd think it would just because Doom is a central point of Secret Wars, which is very multiversal

given that doom's mask is fused to his face.... few ever get to see his face other than for plot purposes...

RDJ is just flashbacks?

so maybe not?

What does that even mean? That they aren't fitting in any additional films after the 2025 films we already know about (Captain America, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four) before May 2026's Avengers film? Because that would have been pretty difficult to pull off to begin with.

Maybe that they aren't starting work on post-Avengers projects so that that gets all their focus? So we might have an empty-ish 2028?

Replying to myself for a second. I think the real story here is that (if true) there's a "mystery film" and Spider-Man 4 before the next Avengers films (which is July 2026, so after Doomsday technically but before Secret Wars).

So while this article makes it sound like everything is on hold... if 2025 is unaffected, we're actually getting an EXTRA film. That kind of contradicts itself, unless they're saying there's no other movies between 2025's Avengers and 2026's Avengers (except SM4 and one other), which was already the case.

All we knew was the 2025 slate (CA4, Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four), Avengers 2026 and Avengers 2027. So I'm failing to see what was put on hold, if now we have two extra films we didn't have a week ago.

only reasonable options would be

DS3
SC2

and if either of those were going to go into production early next year for a 2026 release, we would have heard by now.

i think it is more likely miscommunication in their messaging, but who knows until they clear it up/

shang chi 2, which at one point this year was rumored to be entering production.

So right now it's...

Captain America: Brave New World
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14513804/
February 14, 2025

Thunderbolts*
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20969586/
May 2, 2025

The Fantastic Four: First Steps
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10676052/
July 25, 2025

Avengers: Doomsday
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21357150/
May 1, 2026

Untitled Spider-Man 4
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22084616/
July 26, 2026

Avengers: Secret Wars
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21361444/
May 7, 2027

The third Doctor Strange movie sounds the farthest along, so my guess is that's it. If they start shooting early next year it could technically be slotted in February 2026. If not, it could be November 2026 or February 2027.

I would have expected another couple movies in addition at some point before May 2027, but I guess not. Who knows for sure, though.

Either way...

- The Fantastic Four: First Steps
- Avengers: Doomsday
- Untitled Spider-Man 4
- Marvel's Avengers: Secret Wars
- Untitled Doctor Strange 3

... are all rumored to be multiverse movies. In other words, two more "grounded" movies in Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*, then a minimum of five moves after that to wrap up The Multiverse Saga.

Seems like you're paying RDJ a whole lot of money to be a voice behind a mask.

It sounds like the whole point is that because he looks identical to RDJ, it'll be harder for certain characters - like, say, Peter Parker - to kill him. They're really going to lean into that idea, so my guess is the mask won't be as prominent.

I'd like a parody video of the Portals scene in End game, where each time a character shows up and takes their mask/helmet off - i.e. Starlord, Spider-Man, Pepper Pots - they are immediately shot and killed by a laser beam.

I wasn't crazy about Doctor Strange 2, but I'd love a third film that dove into the Dark Dimension and some of Strange's freakier villains… and maybe using the multiverse as the actual plot focus, rather than a setting or marketing tool.

Strange trying to stop universes from destroying each other, for example, rather than "what if there was a universe with an Ultron" or whatever.

I'd like to see where they're going with that third eye thing too. Is he partially corrupted?

So for 2025 we're going to have 6 marvel tv shows and 3 marvel movies?

Dang Bob…that so called, "limiting marvel releases" must've been just an excuse….this was just last year:

I think 4 are animated and they'd already finished Ironheart and filmed Wonder Man IIRC. For what it's worth.

YouTube friendly.
Looks like Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel) will show up in Daredevil as there is a shot of her dad talking to Matt Murdock in there.

I think I'm going to punish my kids when they act up by making them watch Ironheart.

Ms Marvel is the one that asks him what kind of lawyer he is, right?

I recently got all caught up with Deadpool movies. Loki S2 was clearly a prerequisite for Deadpool & Wolverine which I skipped although I'm not sure I missed too much with that.

Going forward, am I mostly good to start back up with this new slate having skipped Loki S2 and Ms Marvel? Also haven't seen Secret Wars which I read on here it sucks, but I guess at least that one may be required watching before this next phase stuff comes out.

No, you are not caught up.

Watch what you skipped, and rewatch everything else.

Twice. [/Disney+ executives]

Disagree you need Loki as a TVA prerequisite. For one it was mostly explained in the movie. Also the events of S2 barely even show up.

I will say I really liked s2 so it's mostly you should watch Loki because it's good

Ugh. Only Daredevil and Wakanda for me.

Rest just look so... "tired" for lack of a better word.

Apparently the end of season two of Loki - specifically, Loki's fate - plays a part in either one or both of the next two Avengers movies. So, IMO, it's worth watching because it's (mostly) good *and* because it will apparently be relevant down the line. To what extent, I'm not yet sure, but we're not done with that character quite yet.

Ms Marvel is actually a pretty fun watch, it's a generally lighthearted show and the actress playing Kamala Khan is so perfect in the role.

Yeah it seemed pretty obvious he would be involved once we get to secret wars

More power to them for continuing to try and get this thing right, but man, this has to be some kind of reshoot record at this point...

based on one of those internal focus group reviews in late Aug (or maybe early Sep) the back half of the movie is rather boring.

hopefully they are trying to punch it up.
