In terms of viewership I expect this to be on par or possibly worse than The Acolyte as the advertising for it has been less than the acolyte and literally no one was asking for this…..a spin off show involving a new character that was from a spin off show itself….

Or I could eat crow and it could be better than Loki……..

Right?

I love Aubrey Plaza because she makes me feel so uncomfortable. Is that weird?

She seems so annoyed with everything that is Hollywood.

Yeah, I can't tell if she's doing a character, or if she's just that naturally awkward.

Same, I'll check it out but this wasn't some anxiously anticipated show.

We're also in a bit of a lull right now, can't think of a lot of must watch stuff out at the moment other than Penguin dropping soon. Which is interesting, because back when broadcast tv was the primary viewing medium the fall season was when all the new stuff released.

Edit: And Only Murders

I was already not interested, so don't really need another reason to skip this. Marvel had probably the best 10 year run of any series ever. They were bound to not be able to maintain that decade of awesomeness.

They definitely could have extended it another 5 years, but they botched a lot of stuff after Endgame.

Is the gay comment just to prove a point that the Acolyte failed due to the show and not the ******ry? Bold strategy cotton.

no the male actor in this thing has come out with comments like we've heard before for this show like, "it's not just for straight white guys" which I was avoiding posting here but there's been a few things about from him mostly about the gay agenda and this show blah blah blah we've all been here before and know how it'll end….

So get ready for it to be our fault for why this show sucks and/or why no one is watching it

This is a nine-episode musical set during Halloween featuring a cast of women playing dress up as *****y witches. In other words, it's about as gay as anything can be, has been out and proud since the jump, and is clearly not for 95% of people who post on this board, nor was it ever meant to be. Audience-wise, if it fails, it fails, which it probably will. But unlike The Acolyte and similar efforts, Disney isn't remotely trying to cater this to dudes as well. It's so obviously for the Wicked / Hocus Pocus / Charmed / Practical Magic / American Horror Story crowd that it just seems silly to try and turn this into the same, mindless conversation we've had a thousand times before.

Did you just Google "shows with witches" and just put a few up there? If not, you are going to have to explain to me how all those shows were made for a certain crowd since the only thing they have in common is they had witches in them.

As long as they don't blame the 95% of the people who it wasn't made for as the reason it wasn't successful, no issues from me.

psssh….history will likely repeat itself here….this is a company that has cross dressers as female witches in their theme parks…

But I don't know now that I think about it…I am intrigued to find out what a GAY EXPLOSION means inside the MCU….

Will the ground be littered with ruble along with witch brooms, cauldrons and leather pants?

Or will it be…..

Only time will tell….

This is disgusting. Just thinking about it grosses me out. Can you imagine, Aubrey Plaza in a gay relationship with another women. Hold each other's hand.... Playing with each other ... Hugging each other.... Kissing each other... Making out... Maybe some light petting... Softly caressing each other's boobs.... Disgusting!

Seriously? Wicked is similarly a musical, while Hocus Pocus was a clear inspiration in terms of tone. Then Charmed and Practical Magic have that same, average-neighborhood/characters-on-the-surface-while-magic-lurks-just-beneath element, just like this. And American Horror Story obviously gives it a bit of that horror feel, which this seems to have as well. I was very specific in my comparisons. I also recalled them from memory, not Google, seeing as I grew up with two sisters and a ton of female cousins and they all love this stuff.

But why do that if it truly is part of a trilogy? Who sets up a 2nd story in a trilogy to not appeal to an audience nearly as wide as WandaVision, especially if they want to follow it with a Vision story?

I think "trilogy" was a very loose term. Especially considering neither Wanda nor Vision are even in this (at least not to any notable degree, involving neither Elizabeth Olsen nor Paul Bettany). To me this is, like, the equivalent of an animated thing, or movie tie-in graphic novel, set between the main courses.

Sabrina, Wednesday, Buffy etc.. American Horror not as much, but yeah..this has a specific audience.

Unfortunately. I am that audience. Could do without the pride parade, but it is what is, I'll watch it anyway.

Sounds like this was made for the type of crowd who watches the Emmys.

I've watched Ricky Gervais's dressing down of Hollywood at the Golden Globes in 2020 about a dozen times. Does that qualify me as a potential Emmy Awards viewer?

I sometimes forget that logging onto TexAgs can be like taking a time machine to some '90s frat where dudes actually think watching the Emmys is "gay" or for "homos" or whatever.
