I remember reading an article a few months back that suggested Esposito should play Professor X and Denzel Washington should be Magneto. This obviously wasn't anything official but it was before Esposito ever signed onto anything with Marvel. I just saw a picture on Reddit of him during the reshoots and he looks like some kind of assassin with knives on his chest.

Bring back the flight attendants from Iron Man, extend the scene to about 45 minutes. put it in the middle of Captain America 4, and that movie makes $500 m

Spider-Man 4 and Avengers 5 are both currently scheduled to release in 2026 (the latter officially, the former not yet officially dated, but all but confirmed), so I'm guessing it has to do with scheduling and whatever they have in store for Peter Parker going forward. It sounds like Spider-Man is basically supposed to lead Secret Wars - which itself is rumored to be split into two movies (aka Avengers 6 and 7) - and all indications so far are that Avengers 5 is more of a table setting movie in that regard. So, seeing as the Fantastic Four aren't rumored to be Avengers 5 either, I'm guessing...

- Avengers 5 characters
- Spider-Man
- Fantastic Four
- Whatever other multiverse shenanigans

... all then come together for Secret Wars (aka Avengers 6 and potentially 7).

Then again, the above report could be based on partial info, Avengers 5 could feature Spider-Man, and/or also move to 2027 (seeing as production is apparently being pushed back a bit)... who knows.

If they want to save the MCU they just need to put Deadpool in every single movie going forward.

Why is the latest Spiderman movie not on ANY streaming services. I still haven't seen it because it isn't on anything I already pay for.

I dont rent movies unless there are extraordinary circumstances. I would torrent it before I paid for it considering I've got Disney, prime, paramount plus, netflix, peacock and probably some other crap I've forgotten about. That's enough money on entertainment as it is.

I ran into the same issue, but I found the spider man 3 w/ Tom Holland on YouTube TV. I'm not sure if it'll work for y'all the same way it did for me… but go into your YTV app on the TV, check under the "movie" tab. My account had a free version of the movie. Just had 4 commercials within the movie. I assume this was from one of the channels associated with YTV and it just had it available to watch on demand.

It's been playing on TNT. Just set it to record and then you don't have to watch the commercials.

I go the opposite route. I have prime, I'm on a family Disney plan, that's it. When I want to watch a movie, I rent it. When I want to watch a streaming show, I get that service for a month or 2.

Given how little we watch tv outside football season, that's our cheaper play.

When our 3 year Disney plan runs out I won't renew. We have peacock because my wife loves dateline and paramount comes with Walmart plus which comes with Amex platinum, so the real 2 main things we have are prime and Netflix and those are the 2 we use the most so we arent shoveling cash monthly for these services.

I'm honestly glad.

Not that it couldn't be great or interesting, but we've seen it enough that Marvel is never really going to give up total control (which is their prerogative), so I don't think we'd necessarily be getting Peele's best vision.

Plus I just don't want Peele tied up on Marvel properties

Yeah I'm good with that. I like Peele but thinking this is the biggest fumble of the MCU is a very 2017 take IMO.

I don't think he's a good fit for the MCU.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?

If X-Men were any other MCU movie, I'd agree that Peele would either be wasting his time/talents or wouldn't be the right fit. But given the fact that it's (hopefully) the start of a new era/direction, and given the respect he garners in the industry, I feel like there could have been a sliver of an opportunity for him to make his mark on the franchise, set the tone, do something really cool with it, and then move on. Almost like when a big-name director directs a pilot, sets the tone/look/quality/vibe, then hands it off for other directors to take it from there. That said, more than likely X-Men will unfortunately look/feel like the rest of the MCU, fitting in alongside everything else, and if that's the case then yeah, Peel definitely did the right thing in not engaging further.

It felt like Marvel allowed directors to put more of their stylistic stamp on movies in the post endgame phase compared to previous phases, and those were the weakest movies (Eternals, directed by Chloe Zhao; Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi; and even Thor Love and Thunder to a degree, directed by Taika Waititi)

I wonder if that will scare them back to the same "marvel" feel as before and reign the directors in a bit more.

I will say this….the actor they picked to play watered down white boy fake captain America from FaWS does have the most punchable face in the MCU….practically in all of cinema….and I have to believe that was done on purpose….
