Marvel tried some with She Hulk at the end but that wasn't Ryan Reynolds. Let the master do his thing and this could be great. He seems to get how to do this right. We shall see.
He's the master because that's him. It's not just how he is as Deadpool, but seems to be how he is in everything in real life.
Agree. He is a great follow on social media. And he knows how to market things so well.

Don't worry, I could say a lot more! I love the MCU. I'm rooting for it. It's not going anywhere for a while as recent trips haven't meant the end. But I just want good to great stories, less content and more substance. Just b/c you have a Disney+ doesn't mean you have to have a new show every quarter. Take your time. Develop things. Combine things even. I am so glad they are redoing Daredevil.

I'm spoiler tagging my predictions just in case.

I think we see Deadpool reset the MCU to just have one universe again, and the TVA is using him and Wolverine to kill everyone off. I think at the end we just have one universe left with x-men and fantastic 4 in it, and that's how they hand wave away why mutants haven't shown up in it before.

I know some are excited to see Pyro back, but in the short snippet that he's in, who is the hooded (masked?) character in front of him ?

As much as I would love this to end the multiverse, there is low to zero chance that Marvel is going to do that much story lifting in an R-rated buddy comedy. I would bet that anything that happens in this movie will have minimal story telling importance going forward and the people saying this is going to save the MCU are meaning show that it can still make $$$.

1. There are mutants in the MCU - Namor and Ms Marvel. 2. Secret wars would logically make more sense for the reboot and the collapse of the multiverse since that is exactly the plot of secret wars (the comic). 3. Isn't the TVA on the side of saving the multiverse these days? unless the guy recruiting Deadpool is a bad guy (e.g., white kang) infiltrating the TVA.

I'm picturing a scene where he and Tom Wambsgans are at the monitors watching clips of all the MCU movies, picking out the good ones, and choosing the terrible ones they want to erase from the canon.

Mark Ruffalo is ready to once again get mean and green for the MCU. During a conversation at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the actor revealed that he'll be back as Bruce Banner for the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. The confirmation of his inclusion means the Incredible Hulk will collide with one of his greatest foes, Samuel "Leader" Stearns (Tim Blake Nelson), on the big screen for the first time in over 15 years when the film arrives in theaters in 2025.

which makes sense.

So Red Hulk, hulk, Leader for sure.

Likely Skaar, maybe Abomination, possibly Red She-Hulk. And maybe even She-Hulk.

Yeah, this is basically what I'm thinking.

Deadpool & Wolverine will officially end the Fox/Marvel era of the X-Men, the one we've known since summer 2000 (X-Men through 2019's Dark Phoenix). There are too many of those characters rumored to appear in this movie (mostly as glorified cameos) for it not to be a swan song for that era/iteration of the characters. A couple of them will survive, and play a part in the events leading up to and in Secret Wars, but the Fox universe itself will be clipped. Then Secret Wars will be the ultimate reset, after which Feige & co will introduce a whole new version of the X-Men. Secret Wars is currently schedule for May 2027, and I bet the new iteration of the X-Men, finally under Feige's watch, with all new actors, will be introduced in a movie either later that year, or sometime in 2028.

Something along those lines.

This is awesome news.

Yes, Brave New World and Thunderbolts will have a distinct B-and-C team vibe regardless, but Ruffalo thankfully helps lend some old school Avengers legitimacy to the proceedings. Harrison Ford as Red Hulk doesn't hurt either, of course.

Outside of their appearances, I'm looking forward to these two movies if only because they'll FINALLY move the MCU plot forward in tangible ways, where most everyone is together again, fighting a common enemy, etc. Even just a whiff of the Winter Soldier to Endgame era, where every movie had weight and actually moved the pieces on the board, would be so awesome to have again.

I forget, is Logan canon to that universe or was it a standalone? Pretty much most of the mutants were dead in it, so curious if that plays.

yes.

and no.

and... at this point does it really matter?

different people have said difference things at different times.

at best... it is a continuation of the mainline films.

at worst it is either an alternate future or completely divorced from the mainline X-films.

regardless DP3 director Levy has stated it is most DEFINITELY canon to Deadpool 3/the MCU.

It may not matter in 4 years, but I was just curious if it might play into the plot of DP3. Obviously, they can explain anything they want to with the multiverse (which is why it keeps getting added and destroyed in the comics in the first place).

It's worth noting that Logan himself died in that movie too. So, the rumor is, the Logan in Deadpool 3 is from the same X-Men universe as the one at the end of The Marvels, which may or may not be the same X-Men universe as the upcoming X-Men '97 animated series on Disney+.

Either way, in addition to a multiversal movie, Deadpool 3 is likely also a time travel movie, given the TVA's involvement. So it ultimately doesn't matter who's dead and who's not.

The whole point is, EVERYTHING Marvel, from every studio, from the last 24 years, is canon. A point that I think Feige himself made recently, if not someone else at Marvel. And we/Deadpool can technically revisit any of it at any time. It's all just different universes within Marvel, with no restrictions now. And what it sounds like this movie will do is try and bring a bit of order that concept, while Secret Wars will then potentially reset it all.

Really bizarre blend of terrible casting and great casting - Liev Schreiber was a fantastic Sabertooth, and you had the only live version of Gambit they've manaaged to conjure in all this time, but also the worst Deadpool ever, one of the Hobbits as Electricity Guy and will I Am as TEleporation Man.

it was originally in canon, but it is considered part of a revised timeline,. not in mainline continuity.

so you can consider it however you want and not be wrong!.

disagree on LS as Sabretooth. that was like the diet coke version of the crystal pepsi version of Mexican coke.

Sabretooth is much biggger, faster and ferocious than Wolverine ever could be. The LS version was... not that. Logan/Wolverine as presented in the movies could easily have taken him.

but agreed that that deadpool, the Merc with (No) Mouth, utterly sucked.
