Using spoiler tags on a movie that came out 3 months ago that everyone but me and TC hated is odd.

He started it.

I haven't actually seen it yet (think it's on Disney+ now?), not that I'd be particularly upset about it being spoiled. The cameo I wish I didn't know about was all over twitter.

Yeah, it came out a few months ago

But I once mentioned on a thread about the prequel to John Carpenter's The Thing (also called The Thing) that the prequel focused on the Norwegian crew that all perished after encountering the titular critter as depicted in the 1982 movie, and another poster actually asked if I had just spoiled something in the new movie.

So now I just put something about an "older" movie in spoiler tags and let God sort it out.

Not a bad policy. The Marvels has been out awhile but not streaming, so there are still folks like me that haven't seen it yet.

And putting spoiler tags is less than 10 extra keystrokes.

WTH? I had no idea a prequel was made. If I did, I forgot about it.

Came out in 2011. I didn't think it was as bad as the reviews made it sound. But it does exemplify the differences between CGI and practical effects. So much better looking with practical. And it is essentially the sane movie as Carpenter's classic.

I feel so seen.

no idea who that is, but he is a much better visual fit to the character. almost spot on. Punchable face and all.

We watched Quantomania last night. It was meh. Thought we were watching a Star Wars movie for a bit.

I thought Majors presence on screen was pretty stellar but don't understand how Kang went from feared and all-powerful to not that big of a deal once Scott made himself big. He seems to have lost his powers by the end of the movie considering he could control people with his mind(?) but then resorts to lasers.

And then the Ants save the day ala ghost army ROTK.

BTW, is Michelle Pfeiffer a goddess? That is how you age.

I feel like we heard this for a Super Bowl not too long ago for a movie trailer that never debuted……think it was a Star Wars…..

It happens every year. For a ton of movies. Some trailers/spots are announced ahead of time, but with others we'll know, for instance, that a studio bought three 30-second spots for the game, and we'll already know what two of those spots are, so then everyone starts speculated on the third, and that's the one they often get wrong.

For Deadpool, though, it really would be the perfect time. If July blockbusters don't already have a trailer released by Christmas, we almost always get the first footage by the Super Bowl. Couple that with Reynolds, Jackman, and the movie's director all attending a primetime Chiefs game together with Taylor Swift earlier this season - with Swift herself rumored to be in the movie / in attendance at the Super Bowl - and I could see them doing some big synergistic play, but who knows.
