I mean I guess.

Marvel took a huge leap with casting him as Iron Man in IM1 - he was still tainted, and really THROUGH Iron Man he has like a phoenix risen from the ashes of his career he burned down.
They did, but RDJ was 5+ years past rehab, had done several movies, and hadn't had any public incident for several years. Obvious differences here.

I don't remember at the time thinking he was tainted or anything like that, just "hey, I remember that guy."

The entire Iron Man production was a risk. Marvel wasn't under the Disney umbrella at the time and didn't have the film rights to any of the "A-Tier" characters. It really succeeded because of RDJ's performance and charisma.

Iron Man was always my favorite comic as a kid. When that movie came out I was pumped.

RDJ was Tony Stark. And Stark had gone through substance abuse issues in the comics.

It was a perfect fit.

Closing arguments are set to start Thursday morning and the case could go to the jury before the end of day tomorrow.

So we have a litigator who thinks he will walk but everyone else thinks he will go down? Is that the gist?
TCTTS

I honestly have no clue. I haven't been paying super close attention, and I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound like there was that one, undeniable piece of evidence that could be pinned on him. That said, I also have no idea how much the jury needs to convict him.

I'm honestly somewhat surprised there isn't more coverage and the like posted on this thread. That probably has a lot to do with marvel fatigue I would guess.

There probably should have been a devoted thread to him/the trial, as I personally didn't want to flood this one with all kinds of updates (save for the past day or two, seeing as a verdict should soon be reached).

Abuser speak maybe. More like a preachy parent with more of an ego.

There are also things you just don't say. You may think them, but it sounds incredibly doushey and disrespectful to say. Like after coming home from a long mentally and physically exhausting day of work and being met with a laundry list of **** to do and wondering why it couldn't get done when the wife filled her day with yoga and lord knows what else. I mean, I think it, but I'm smart enough to just hang my head and get on with whatever it is that has to get done.

Dynamite little trivia from the X-men Animated Series on Wiki

South Korean studio AKOM was hired to animate the episodes. X-Men was originally to premiere over the Labor Day weekend in September; due to production delays, it was pushed to the end of October. When the animation team AKOM turned in the first episode, it contained several animation errors, which AKOM refused to fix. Because of time constraints, the episode was aired in an unfinished form.[4] The second episode was turned in just before a deadline, with 50 scenes missing and only a single day reserved for editing.[4]

How do you turn it in with FIFTY scenes missing?

Interesting...

Labeled "Marvel Studios" not "comics". And likenesses are MCU

(yeah, I know it is nothing, but it is more interesting that more Jonathan Majors crap)
I collect all this crap. They get me every time.

Pretty much guaranteed same 6 in one box then the other. One is storm, beast, wolverine, the ant man guy from what if, Werewolf by night, and Agatha.

I wanted that box but, I got Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Echo, Moon knight, the other dude from Moon Knight, and She Hulk.

so is general thought process now from everyone who's paying attention to the jonathan majors stuff now that the survelience video came out that....

1. she was probably lying about that specific incident
2. they were both "guilty" of contributing to a toxic relationship and both probably said/did some messed up stuff to each other in the past
3. majors will be found innocent of this specific incident but the text messages that have came out will still be somewhat permanently damaging to his career and playing kang moving forward

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/jonathan-majors-trial-verdict-1235759607/

A New York jury found Marvel actor Jonathan Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment.

The verdict was reached on Monday by a six-person jury after roughly over four hours of deliberation spread across three days. Jonathan Majors, wearing a grey suit and black dress shirt and tie, sat with his attorneys, with family members and his girlfriend, Meagan Good, behind him as the verdict was read. He was found not guilty of intentional assault in the third degree and not guilty of aggravated harassment in second degree. Sentencing is set for Feb. 6.

Four hours spread over 3 days? I've served on juries before and that seems weird.
