Ezra Miller has the LGBTQ+ force field, which is maybe the most powerful force field currently.

Strangely enough, on r/marvelstudios last night, the vast majority were like "good riddance. " many even hoping that secret wars could now be done with Dr Doom instead of kang.

Dr. Doom is a bad-ass villain, but if you're going the traditional route you're asking the bad guy to wear a mask for 2+ movies that never shows his face, or keep on coming up with convenient ways for him not to wear it that makes Doom not Doom. So do you go with a Grade A actor who never his face shown? Even Brolin was fairly recognizable in the Thanos CGI, and the voice as all him. Doom's voice would be significantly altered by the mask, I'm assuming.

Do it Vader style where you have one guy doing the body and someone famous doing the voice.

Disappointing as I thought Majors was just magnetic on screen but if this is all true…yikes. Gonna be an interesting few months at Marvel.

Haven't seen that. He was toast until the preview looked good. People are willing to overlook a lot if they are entertained. Marvel isn't as entertaining right now.

Have to wonder if Majors filmed anything for GOTG, like a mid/post credits scene. That movie comes out in 5 weeks so they're going to have to make a decision if he's included in the plot lines at any point.

Saw that before John Wick yesterday. That was a damn good ad, but I'm sure it will go away quietly given the current cancel culture and how the military is currently being run.

If he's in a mid credit scene they could literally introduce the variant right there if they were cutting ties.

He was arrested for assaulting a woman. Shouldn't those spots be held until some resolution is reached?

"Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows," says criminal defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry. "We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently."

Chaudhry goes on to say there is video footage from the vehicle where the alleged incident took place, witness testimony from the driver and onlookers and two written statements from the woman recanting the allegations.

"All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever," she said. "Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon."

Spots are already running.

I don't know anything about this other than what I see in these reports, but I have an instant distrust response when I see something prefaced with words like "everyone knows this" or "everyone should have known this would happen". If he did in fact commit this assault, then he should face whatever the consequences are, but those consequences should never be determined by idiots on Twitter or any court of public opinion.

I'm not saying twitter mobs are reliable..but also

our justice system isn't always great about giving "Real" consequences out..esp in domestic disputes / cases that include someone with fame. Just sayin. Look at the Ezra Miller timeline I posted. Hell, look at the Houston bail thread.

Then let's SEE that evidence. Why are you (the lawyer) just telling us about it? Every hour that this story is allowed to build and fester online, the worse it gets for Majors in the court of public opinion. Especially when I continue to see story after story posted, from people who either allegedly worked with him or have heard stories from colleagues, essentially/increasingly saying, "Yeah, he's always been a piece of sh*t." The director who posted a rant about Majors in February, but didn't use his name, who then confirmed last night that he was, indeed, talking about Majors, is especially convincing/damaging. But if there really are two letters from the woman recanting her story (why there would be two, I'm not sure), AND video evidence, then release it all ASAP. If anything, TMZ should be all over that kind of stuff.

And we will see, one way of the other. I can't imagine being a lawyer sticking his neck out without having the receipts but if they don't, then those are steel cajones.

It's easier to pile on when they think someone is down. He may not be a very likable guy. Joining in the criticism makes them feel like they are part of the movement, or whatever. The criticism is also much safer.

To me that remains the remarkable thing about the Johnny Depp accusations. Very few people came out of the woodwork to pile on when they had every opportunity. Kind of tells you how respected he is as a person.

Very cool. A better version of what I've seen in places like A&M that have underwater treadmills that can raise and lower in height thus changing the % of your body weight you're walking on.

Only problem is you're in water so if you have bandages like he's got on it's not a good solution.

I guess that makes sense. It just seems backwards to me that a woman can accuse someone of abuse, it's immediately world-wide news, and the police can publicly confirm, but then when that same woman *apparently* says, "Actually, I take it all back," it's a long, drawn out process and considered "evidence."

Kang's lawyer doesn't GAF about the court of public opinion. All his effort right now is getting those charges dismissed. Kang's got a publicist and an agent and whoever else to spin the story a different way.

The lawyer isnt' releasing evidence to a bunch of yahoos on social media in order to have them tear it apart bit by bit and come up with all sorts of ridiculous conspiracy theories. If he's a good lawyer, he and the DA are having lunch in some private room of a restaurant near the court house like two old best friends and talking about what's going to happen. Bet your ass the DA already knows if the charges have a shot in hell of sticking, and if they don't, it'll be explained tomorrow with assurances from Kang's attorney that next time one of his clients effs up in public, the attorney owes the DA a deal that makes a little more of an example - a weekend in jail or 200 hours of community service, or something that makes it look like a "win" for him. And oh, maybe an autograph on the Creed III poster too for his office?

And if the charges are dismissed, THEN the lawyer goes Holy War on the toxicity of social media and everyone jumping to conclusions and lines up familiar faces to tell us what a saint Kang is. Michael B. Jordan will come out and talk about solidarity among black actors and Kevin Feige will say what a rare talent he is and blah blah blah.Lawyer guy will hold court for 30 minutes and hug Kang and say this is what happens in our cancel culture and it's not fair and you should all be ashamed of yourself and on and on.

Rinse and repeat.

The criminal defense attorneys job is to defend against the charges. You don't want to discredit the alleged victim in the media if you have hopes of her recanting her story or asking the State not to prosecute you. Any information disclosed later will be because it's in the best interest of the case to pressure the prosecutor to dismiss. If there's even a reason to release any evidence. There's more to it than this, but this is the quickest way to explain. In other words, it depends…I always start a case preparing as though it's going to trial.

They can. It's just a question of strategy as detailed in the long post just above this one.

Prosecutors and plaintiff attorneys release things into the public all the time for the express purpose of influencing the jury pool.
