The guy was saying that the MCU maybe should have been more diverse from the start, but instead has now (over)corrected course really quickly.
Then others who have a constant need to be a part of the aggrieved victimhood jumped all over him, so he's having to defend his position.

I mean, to me, saying that there are too many stories featuring POC's comes across as pretty racist. I have never heard white folks say that Marcel has made too many stories featuring white folks. Why doesnt that also apply to movies about POC's?

Edit- to be fair, you did tell a POC that they were injecting racism into the conversation and essentially invalidated their opinions. That's why I brought it up. It seems relevant to me, but I fully admit I could be wrong on that aspect of things.

Had we focused on Falcon or Miles or BP earlier we'd have heard "why are they bringing in these characters, what a token move".
I personally love anything Marvel does, I pretty much like every marvel movie outside of The eternals and Thor 2. I just don't like when there is some kind of expectation set of a movie being god's next gift to cinema, just because it's a superhero that doesn't fit the historical Hollywood mold of characters. I'm still going to see it, and most likely enjoy it, but at the end of the day it's almost always just another decent Marvel movie.
Of course, you see the same thing with any of the new fantasy stuff coming out today. And some people probably do feel that way, I in no way want to diminish them for feeling that. But most of the time it feels to me like more effort is spent into how to cast this movie into being different than anything before rather than how to write this movie into being different from anything before. And I would prefer the other way around.

I skimmed the BP2 and Quantumania scripts about a year ago. Wish I hadn't - might have enjoyed Ant-Man more. All I knew about BP2 was the final situation of the mantle / crown.
Sometimes things change but the main beats of both were 100% on point, as I learned after the fact. So yeah - major leaks, for several films now. Doctor Strange was another but I avoided it.

I've always wondered how many actors are like this. Show up for their part and have nothing to do with the movie beyond that and couldn't really tell you what the movie was really about.
Gwyneth Paltrow is notorious for having absolutely no clue which Marvel movies she's in as well.
There's also a funny story about Edie Falco, who had a small role in Avatar: The Way of Water, having filmed so long ago that she legit figured it had already come out and failed at the box office.

It's not strange that Fishburne doesn't remember that, what's strange is someone had the chance to tell him what movie of his he likes, and he said Ant-Man.
As of last July, *five* MCU Disney+ series were officially announced as releasing in 2023, starting with Secret Invasion this spring and ending with Agatha: Coven of Chaos in December (with Echo, Loki S2, and Ironheart in between). Now? Every single one of those shows has been pushed, one-by-one, with no release dates or windows for any of them...

For the record, all five series of those have either completed filming or are currently filming. In fact, I think Agatha: Coven of Chaos is the only one still filming. While Daredevil: Born Again just started filming as well, along with a secret/rumored Mephisto "special presentation" starring Sacha Baron Cohen. So *six* MCU Disney+ series, in addition to a rumored, hour-long "special presentation," are all currently in some form of production. In other words, the Disney+ series aren't going anywhere.
I'm mostly with you, though. I enjoyed the majority of WandaVision and Loki, but everything else has been anywhere from bad to mildly entertaining. Factor in the Quantumania debacle and the Disney+ numbers and Marvel has basically been forced to spread these series out now, though I wonder how long they can hold or how far they can push everything that's already in the can. Especially if any of them lead into any of the scheduled movies (though, like you said, probably not).
All that said, Secret Invasion at least looks like it was made with adults in mind, as opposed to *only* 14-year-olds. So I'm somewhat looking forward to that one. All others outside of that and Daredevil: Born Again, though, no thanks.

I didnt watch Wandavision until it was 4 weeks in, and then only out of duty to the brand. Nothing about it got me excited.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier I liked a lot, but I also get the criticism. I love Bucky and Zemo and Falcon's chemistry and I especially love me some Sharon Carter so that was easy to watch.
Enjoyed most of "What If", found the frustration with "plot holes" on an alternate history cartoon on this board to be a good source of amusement.
Hawkeye was a slam dunk, I've watched it through again and really enjoy it.
Loki was really strong, and Owen Wilson drove the show despite not being the main character.
I haven't yet watched Moon Knight out of a sheer lack of interest despite being a huge fan of Oscar Isaac. Just seems like there's always a better choice, such as watching Edge of Tomorrow during the Aggies' lost last night, which felt like a real commentary on our sports teams, get our ass beat, wake up, repeat.
I almost gave up on She-Hulk on the blah first episode with her and Bruce, but watched the second episode one day in the car-rider line and ended up loving it, especially the crazy ending. Would put in my top 3 behind Hawkeye and Falcon/WS.
The witch show seems like the worst idea possible making an incredible supporting actress into an unwanted lead. Definitely looking forward to Secret Invasion, Sam Jackson is always worth watching. Ironheart and Echo should be released with as little fanfare as possible. They both seem like bad ideas.
