Man, last week I saw Love & Thunder for the first time. What a waste of Christian Bale. So little screen time.

I hope Kang gets treated more like Thanos and less like all these great actors wasted in one movie roles as villains.

it's a relief to have a movie that isn't 3 hours long

I thought the same thing when I saw it. The first 2 Ant-Mans were 1:58. They get the length that most people want their superhero movies.

Outside of No Way Home, this is the first movie since Phase Three that actually feels like it's going to mean something/truly move the overall plot forward. Great way to kick off Phase Five. Can't wait.

That end shot.

This seems like it's going to be good. Excited to see Antman in a more serious looking role. I think extreme sci-fi was a good choice to do that.

Wait... that's Corey Stoll? From Ant-Man 1?

Also I know that's a quick screen shot, but that image of Modok is hilarious

Apparently so. But knowing how Marvel does trailers, it could be someone completely different by the time the movie itself comes out.

This is random, but has anyone else noticed how since about Phase 3, all the Marvel movies have the same "look"? It's sort of like an artificial sunlight and the cinematography has been kind of bland and boring ever since then.

It's hard to explain, but it makes all the MCU movies look the same and look "fake" to a certain extent. I don't know if this is an intentional choice but that Marvel look is really bad, where everything is washed in yellow. (This was especially true in Endgame, which I loved just like everyone else.)

Random thing, but I notice it for sure.

This movie looks like it might be cool though. Looking forward to watching.

last shot of Kang is exactly what Marvel needs to get back to work on being bad-ass. Assuming it's really the plot, the idea of Scott being tempted by getting time back with Cassie is really powerful. If you're a parent, the idea of missing a chunk of your kid's life or losing them period is hard to handle. It's what made the real connective tissue for Endgame the Antman/Hawkeye/Stark connection with their kids.

Since this is the first movie of Phase 5, the idea of Scott being tempted and tricked into giving Kang what he wants, something that he eventually uses against the multiverses and having Scott feel the guilt this whole time. I know Hank Pym is usually the conflicted Ant man in the comics but they could give some of that to Scott in Phase 5

Can we talk again about how terrible Evangeline Lilly's hair looks? I mean, what were they thinking?

I'm usually onboard with short hair if done right. This is not done right, and her looks suffer for it.

Hoping they go dark with this cause it'll be what's needed to start off phase 5 with a bunch of bad crap going down…..

Anyone here thinking antman dies in this one? It's already heavily guessed/hinted that we're losing someone in guardians that comes out a few months after this….

I'm guessing to really up the ante here in phase 5 in the first few films, we're gonna have some serious consequences to our heroes….

Well it will really depend on what Scott has that Kang needs. Thanos needed the Tessaract from Thor's ship, but he only killed Helmdall and Loki for resisting and left Thor alive, and the Hulk got away.

Considering Rudd's ever-present star power, maybe Kang decides to kill the Wasp instead, thus completing many of your bad-hair day dark fantasies about her. Cassie takes over as the new Wasp and Scott goes serious into the Avenger movies.

There's also this quote from the director of the movie in EW

"I metaphorically kicked in Kevin Feige's door. People felt like, Oh, these are fun little palate cleansers after a gigantic Avengers movie. For this third one, I said, 'I don't want to be the palate cleanser anymore. I want to be the big Avengers movie.'

I grew up a real Marvel comics nerd, and there are a handful of antagonists in the Marvel comics universe who are all-timers. Loki, obviously. Doctor Doom from the Fantastic Four. And Kang the Conqueror. In conversations with Kevin Feige and Marvel, it was like, I want to put Ant-Man and Wasp up against a really formidable villain in this movie, and so we're doing Kang the Conqueror."

I was thinking that, or maybe killing off Hank and Janet instead? Or maybe you have a situation that mirrors the first where Hank stays behind in the Quantum Realm to save them like Janet did for him before the first Ant Man

Giving Michael Douglas the equivalent of the old Bruce Wayne suiting up from Batman Beyond scene would be epic. Although if they go that route im sure Pfeiffer would stay too so they could be together.

so if they do that, should we have a Texags EB class action to sue Marvel for a misleading trailer?

Ever since the multi-verse became an official thing in the MCU, "killing" a character does not do much for the actor playing that character since they can easily play one of many multi-verse variants of that character. The MCU basically already did this by killing Gamora in Infinity War but still having Zoey Saldana play another version of Gamora in Endgame (and beyond).

Yeah if anyone dies it's Hank - no way it's Scott or Hope or Cassie. But even then I think they all make it out of there alive. (But maybe so does Kang..?)

Kang Dynasty Kang could be a different Kang, easily, but it might be somewhat of a waste of his development here.
