Yeah, unless they somehow retconned Killmonger back alive, there wasn't real feasible option within the established pantheon. I guess you could make the argument for Baku, but he would seem like a stop-gap to someone from the royal family anyway.
Last shot sure looked like Shuri in the BP suit. But this should be expected given she was the sister and lines of succession.TCTTS said:
Between the final shot of the new trailer and Shuri being front and center in the new poster, there's no way she's not the new BP at this point. On first impression, that's somewhat disappointing, but I'll of course wait and reserve judgment. All I know is the new trailer doesn't hold a candle to the first one. Then again, nothing was going to top one of the greatest of all time.
She definitely makes the most sense. I guess I was just hoping it would somehow be more of a genuine surprise no one had thought of yet.

i still think the best solution was to recast T'Challa. i think they really screwed up by announcing the role would not be recast so quickly after Boseman's passing. they should have simply said "now is the time to celebrate the life of Chadwick Boseman, not to discuss BP2 or the role of T'Challa". they may have still decided that not recasting was the best course of action, but i just don't get why they took it off the table so early. workshop it with Coogler, talk with the family, see what the public discourse is and then figure out the best course forwardTCTTS said:

I get you, but with the flexibility of the multiverse allowing you to do anything you want basically, how badass would Michael B Jordan be coming from a parallel universe where Killmonger is good, the black panther, and Klaue is still alive?
MBJ as Killmonger might be the one re-casting that would work, yeah. I mentioned him in my first post on this page.

The trailer still looks great. Absolutely love the aesthetic of the Atlanteans. Can't wait to see them in action.

I haven't even watched the second Dr. Strange yet. I've fallen into the trap of wanting to see how all of these connect, because that's a ton of fun to try and figure out. I don't think that was Marvel's intent with Phase 4.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I think COVID really screwed things up for them, but even if COVID didn't happen, I will maintain that Spidey should have been the first movie after Endgame for Phase 4.

Im hyped for BP2, will probably take one of my kids to see it opening weekend. I love M'Baku, probably my favorite character from that movie and one of my favorites overall.

I'm with you. I just have no excitement to go see this one. Didn't care much for the first one and other than Spiderman, this phase has just been all over the place.
Just a callback to the upside down killmonger shot
Finally got around to watching Thor: Love and Thunder the other night. I think just about all of the criticism i read here was justified. A lot of the humor felt forced and out of place. Second half was better than the first. Scene with the kids was really funny. Felt like Natalie Portman kind of phoned it in tbh. Ragnarok was much better and sets the hold standard for Marvel along with GotG.
