Who else could it be realistically that wouldn't make people angrier than happy for the twist?

Last shot sure looked like Shuri in the BP suit. But this should be expected given she was the sister and lines of succession.TCTTS said:
Between the final shot of the new trailer and Shuri being front and center in the new poster, there's no way she's not the new BP at this point. On first impression, that's somewhat disappointing, but I'll of course wait and reserve judgment. All I know is the new trailer doesn't hold a candle to the first one. Then again, nothing was going to top one of the greatest of all time.

i still think the best solution was to recast T'Challa. i think they really screwed up by announcing the role would not be recast so quickly after Boseman's passing. they should have simply said "now is the time to celebrate the life of Chadwick Boseman, not to discuss BP2 or the role of T'Challa". they may have still decided that not recasting was the best course of action, but i just don't get why they took it off the table so early. workshop it with Coogler, talk with the family, see what the public discourse is and then figure out the best course forwardTCTTS said:
There was never a great solution.

You could have had a multi-verse BP make it here, and problem solved, cast whomever you want.
I think Marvel wanted to show that #girlsgetitdone after the news, but you have to think that with Letitia's social media controversy, they are wishing they could have gone with a more mayonnaise kind of option.
Like Martin Freeman.

Eh, there could be some female empowerment motivation present, but I think it was more an attempt to avoid appearing callous and basically saying that any black actor can be plugged into Boseman's place.
I do hope they bring back both Killmonger and Klaue as part of the Multiverse stuff. Those two were so great in those roles that it seems a waste to kill both off so quickly.Definitely Not A Cop said:jeffk said:Definitely Not A Cop said:

I get you, but with the flexibility of the multiverse allowing you to do anything you want basically, how badass would Michael B Jordan be coming from a parallel universe where Killmonger is good, the black panther, and Klaue is still alive?

I'd rather see him. Shuri is unbearable to watch.Saxsoon said:Definitely Not A Cop said:

I think mbaku was a favorite for many
It really is too bad they killed him off in BP. I wonder how much the regret that now.jeffk said:Definitely Not A Cop said:

Yeah, unless they somehow retconned Killmonger back alive, there wasn't real feasible option within the established pantheon. I guess you could make the argument for Baku, but he would seem like a stop-gap to someone from the royal family anyway.
I haven't even watched the second Dr. Strange yet. I've fallen into the trap of wanting to see how all of these connect, because that's a ton of fun to try and figure out. I don't think that was Marvel's intent with Phase 4.Brian Earl Spilner said:
I'll be watching this out of "obligation" just so I can keep watching MCU movies and not be totally lost, but I'm not particularly excited for this. The new trailer did nothing for me, and I'm also not a fan of Shuri at all.
But, I am open to being won over. The Mayan aspect of it does intrigue me a bit.
Will be a good Christmas time rewatch this year!maroon barchetta said:BenFiasco14 said:
Super late on Hawkeye but watching now. I'll watch anything with Hailee Steinfeld in it. My god.
It was a really great watch around Christmas time.
