Doing the rewatch now. Sorry if this was already discussed in one of the previous pages, but how does Loki activate the space stone to get to Earth in the Avengers? Was Selvig already under some sort of mind control before Loki got there (Thor post credit scene) and so he opened it to him?

that seems a reasonable explanation.

another question...why did Thanos use Loki, who he didn't really know, to retrieve the tesseract? why not just send one of his "children"? not only that, but he gives Loki the only infinity stone he already had and, in the process, winds up losing that one too.

seems like it took Thanos a while to get his stuff together.

Same question could be asked why he was using Ronan in GOTG?

I think he was trying to hide what he was doing. Draws less attention of different entities are collecting the stones.

Big question is when the GOTG find out that they have an infinity stone, gamora doesn't alert them to his plan (she presumably already knows about the soul stone at this point)

I guess he wanted to delegate...

When your ultimate goal is to eliminate half of the universe, and therefore half of your work force, it's a good idea to evenly distribute responsibilities.

Since it's a week until the next release.... what is everyone's favorite sequence in any of the current movies over the last few years?

I can't say exactly what is my favorite, but the whole action sequence in the winter soldier when they are trying to kill Furry, his smart car, then winter soldier shows up, and when they finally get into the suv, he had cut his way out. Just an awesome scene.

We just rewatched Winter Soldier! I think the highway sequence (ending in the Bucky reveal) may be the best in the MCU. The action is top-notch, and in one scene you see why Cap, Bucky, Natasha and even Falcon w/o wings are legit. They're all used in perfect ways.

Side note, I know people have moved past the "MCU villain problem" lately but Bucky/Hydra were fantastic villains in this one. I guess people don't like to count Bucky since he's good now, but holy hell he's terrifying in that scene.

Yep, it's the Fury scene in Winter Soldier. That shht is intense. The other one where Cap and Bucky go hand to hand is great, too.

My favorite scene from the last few movies is probably Thor's arrival to Wakanda followed closely by truth serum in Ant-Man and Wasp.

The Winter Soldier has a lot of great action sequences. One not mentioned yet is the big fight at the end on the helicarriers and between Cap, Falcon and WS. "Please don't make me do this," Cap says to WS right before the fight starts. The fight ends with WS telling Cap, "You are my mission." And Cap responding, "Then finish it, because I'm with you to the end".

Infinity War has a whole lot of great action sequences as well, but I don't think any quite resonate on such a personal level as does that last fight between WS and Cap in The Winter Soldier.

The casino scene in black panther. Love the camera work and cinematography. Love the music. Klaw is awesome and the fighting is awesome.

I guess the music doesn't really kick in until the car chase and you could say that isn't the same scene but I love that whole sequence.

Greatest scene ever is still Thor fighting Iron Man in the first Avengers.

The Cap-Bucky-Iron Man hand to hand fight it's one of the greatest fight scenes ever. Especially where Cap and Bucky are tossing the shield back and forth.

Honestly, that kind of deal (tossing the shield back and forth) comes of as too choreographed for me. I imagine in a real fight one wouldn't be partying attention and get hit in the back of the head with it.

Probably not my favorite but Spider-Man vs. TWS and Falcon was pretty bad ass. Gives you an idea how formidable Spider-Man is.

I never remembered when Cap tells him "you're my friend." Same reasoning he gives to Tony in Civil War - he's his friend.

Not necessarily my favorite scene, but one that stands out to me is in Homecoming when Peter shows up to pick his date up and Michael Keaton opens the door, then the entire car ride to the dance. The set up for it and the intensity was amazing.

I haven't really seen any of the Marvel movies since Civil War, and I'd like to rewatch of the older Marvel films and catch up before Avengers: Endgame (and maybe catch Captain Marvel beforehand).

With that said, I wondering how much is cut and/or edited from these movies when they air on cable (USA, Syfy etc..)? I don't really want to pay $4 a pop for digital rentals and it looks like practically every Marvel film outside of the last 4-5 that are Netflix or Starz, is playing on a cable network over the next week. Therefore I was considering just recording them on my DVR and watching them this way. My only hesitation is that I'd hate to watch them on cable if they are hacked and edited in a way that really takes away from the viewing experience.

For anybody that has seem any of the older Marvel movies on cable, is there a drop in quality?

Thanks!

If there's anything cut, it's nothing important.
