Ragnarok is an absolute ****ing blast. Just got out so definitely feeling the influence but I'd say easily a top 5 Marvel movie.

It's just a ton of fun. Goldblum is great. Awesome use of the Hulk, great chemistry between him and Thor. And as always Loki remains one of the best things about the MCU.

And Hemsworth is ****ing hilarious. That guy's comedy chops are impressive. Thor finally gets the treatment he deserves.

How were the crowds? Sold out? Bought my tickets on Wednesday and was surprised to find that the theater was nearly sold out already for a Saturday show. Was not expecting that for a Thor movie, but good reviews go a long way, it seems...

Agree. Also had more depth than I thought it would.

It was an advanced screening at the Drafthouse so def sold out. Very enthusiastic crowd, people in costumes and all that. Got a standing O after which was to be expected but pretty deserved.

This movie is gonna make a LOT of money

Very good. Very guardians theme/style. A few tone issues given its Ragnorok, but still a very very fun adventure.

Ragnarok is amazing. Full review tomorrow.

The best Marvel movie behind Gaurdians 1, Avengers 1, Winter Soldier, Civil War. They knocked it out of the park. Liked it even more than IM1.

It kind of missed for me. Some things were great. Some were not. I'm not going to give anything away in this thread.

Would it be too spoiler-y to ask how involved the plot is with Thanos/the Infinity Stones?

If it is, please disregard the question

Well, we know that one of the Infinity Stones is the Time Gem and have seen it used to alter time in Dr. Strange

They aren't central to the story line...but just like most other MCU movies, they are around.

Saw it today with my kids. It was great, in my opinion. I love MCU and the Thor movies are probably my favorite. My kids were introduced to a classic song in the movie and they loved it. It was perfect. (I doubt it's a spoiler but won't post just in case.)

That. Was. Awesome.

Korg is now an all-timer secondary character in the MCU.

Wow wow wow! Marvel does it again. By far the best movie with Thor in it. Best version of Hulk we've seen yet. The whole cast knocks it our of the park. Seeing this one in theaters again!

Two post credits scenes for those who know the deal and stick around.

Loved it. Quirky, but a ton if fun. Felt like a gaurdians sequel in a way.

I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about how Hulk was displayed. I'd always thought his character wasn't able to talk and was in a constant fit of rage, but they showed him under control a lot.

I also loved Korg. Might be my favorite character in the MCU. Apparently he was only supposed to be in a couple scenes, but they had so much fun with him that he became more prominent. The director actually did the voice and motion capture thinking it would be a small part.

I've had a couple of days to think about this movie (even found myself cogitating this movie while sitting in my seat at Kyle Field yesterday watching but not really seeing the annual A&M el foldo on the gridiron). I thought T:R was a lot of fun at the theater, and it was actually the Thor movie that I think everyone has wanted to see. The last Thor movie was a good movie but ultimately it is forgettable. This one makes up for that in every way possible, yet I can't put it over what I consider the giants of the MCU - all of Cap's movies, first Avengers, first Iron Man and first Guardians. It's a toss-up for me between Spider-Man Homecoming and Thor Ragnorak as to which is better this year of all of Marvel's releases (Guardians 2 was fun but not as fresh as the original so it suffered in my eyes). I ultimately rank S:H a wee bit higher than T:R.

01. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
02. Captain America: Civil War
03. Guardians of the Galaxy
04. Iron Man
05. The Avengers
06. Captain America: The First Avenger
07. Spider-Man: Homecoming
08. Thor Ragnorak
09. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
10. Doctor Strange
11. Avengers: Age of Ultron
12. Thor
13. Iron Man 2
14. Iron Man 3
15. Ant Man
16. The Incredible Hulk
17. Thor: The Dark World

I might be using "another day, another Doug" in everyday conversation now.

"New Doug, great"!

And when he is holding his friend, at the end of the film... I "guess I just haven't been able to let him go, but oh wait hey there you're alive"

At this point I can't rank them all anymore. I might have to start putting them in tiers instead. Other than that it seems really just inconsistent for me.
