It's fun! Absolutely.
This is about how I would do it too.BigTimeAlum said:
1) Yes I may be completely wrong and they may pull it off. But, if Thanos collects the stones in a 15 minute backstory in infinity wars, it's just dumb.
2) This was Gunn. He wanted to tell this story and have it be separate from the arc. They gave him that because he was awesome with the first one, and like I said, he did great with this one too.
3) My rankings:
01 The Avengers (a perfect comic book movie, truly capturing every character as part of an epic story)
02 Captain America: Winter Soldier
03 Iron Man
04 Guardians vol 2
05 Guardians
06 Captain America: Civil War
07 Doctor Strange
08 Captain America: the First Avenger
09 Ant Man
10 Avengers: Age of Ultron
11 Thor
12 Iron Man 3
13 Thor: the Dark World
14 Iron Man 2
15 The Incredible Hulk
Sure. I like seeing lists like these. My expectation is the next 2 movies will fall middle of the pack, I've no idea what to expect from the Black Panther movie but I did really like the character in Civil War. Then I expect Infinity War to vault to #1 or #2 on my own list, but I have to say, it's gonna be dang difficult to unseat The Winter Soldier.TCTTS said:

I'm actually genuinely excited for for the next two (including Spider-Man which I realize is debatable).Cinco Ranch Aggie said:Sure. I like seeing lists like these. Would be a pretty great cold open to Infinity War too.Quote:

I feel like Thanos has to start collecting infinity stones in Ragnarok and Thor becomes aware of it. That was his whole reason for leaving Earth at the end of Avengers 2. Thor said something along the lines of, "Someone is playing an intricate game and I intend to find out who" at the end of Avengers 2.GiveEmHellBill said:
[edit] oh, and having this happen in Thor: Ragnarok would allow for Thor and Banner to be aware of what's happening so that they can return to Earth to try and warn everyone of who and what is coming. Because, apart from the Guardians (and Loki), no one on Earth even knows who Thanos is or what he is doing.
True, but he could also be aware that the Aether is being held by the Collector and could just show up to take it from him. Having the Collector be the intermediary between Thanos and the Broker (who sent the Ravagers to retrieve the Orb) would just help connect some dots from the Guardians movie.Brick Tamland said:
I like it, but wouldn't Thanos already know The Collector doesn't have the power stone since he saw Ronan put it to use?

Got a nerdy question for some of you.
When it comes to Asgard... is it really just another planet? Or is it something weird like it's in another dimension or something silly like that? I know Thor travels by the Heimdall teleporter thing.
Basically, could Thanos, or the Guardians or the Nova Corps get there by space travel? Or is that not how it works?
Asgard is part of the nine realms/worlds (including Alfheim, Hel, Jotunheim, Midgard, Muspelheim, Nidavellir, Svartalfheim, and Vanaheim). Midgard/Earth is the only one of the nine realms which is actually in a different dimension front the rest. It is considered part of the nine realms because it was the only world in the Earth Realm that had a connection to Asgard (bifrost).Sex Panther said:

really good theory, where have i heard it before. oh yeah, four pages backGiveEmHellBill said:
Okay, long post here but bear with me:
I've been thinking a lot about how the Infinity War is going to get started, seeing as how Thanos has yet to actually take possession of an Infinity Stone. I think I may have a way for them to get the ball rolling in Thor: Ragnarok.
We already know that Asgard is going to fall to Hela. After that event, have Thanos appear in Asgard somewhere in the middle of the movie. He could have aided her in her takeover and now he's there to collect his payment: the Space Stone encased in the Tesseract in Odin's vault. That's one down and we've now established that Thanos is actually moving forward towards his goal.
First post-credits scene: Thanos visits the Collector. We know that the Collector was "the buyer" of the Orb in the first Guardians movie. Maybe he was acting as the buyer for Thanos? And when Thanos goes to him to retrieve it, since the Collector doesn't have the Orb, Thanos would instead take the Aether containing the Reality Stone (which was brought to the Collector in the post-credits of Thor: the Dark World). That's two.
Final end credits scene: Xandar. The headquarters of the Nova Corps blows up and out comes Thanos, clutching the Orb in his hand. He opens the Orb and places the Power Stone in his gauntlet. As the Nova Corps ships descends on him, he is able to easily destroy the entire fleet with the power of three Infinity Stones. As he stares at the power emanating from the stonesfade to black.
There, Thanos now has the three Stones that we know about that are NOT on Earth. What's left are the Time Stone (aka the Eye of Agamotto) and the Mind Stone (aka Vision). The final stone, the Soul Stone, is still unknown at this time. Maybe, just maybehe already has it. I mean, he did have the Mind Stone and gave it to Loki in the first Avengers movie so that Loki could use it to retrieve the Tesseract from Earth. I'm sure Thanos was only intending to loan the Mind Stone to Loki and planned on getting it back PLUS the Space Stone.
My guess is the final Stone he gets will be the Mind Stone. I would imagine that when he plucks that Stone from Vision's forehead, Vision will already be dead. That will be one Avenger down when Thanos finally completes his gauntlet.
i don't know....sounds reasonable. But I'm sure Marvel already has all this mapped out ahead of time and don't need my ideas.
[edit] oh, and having this happen in Thor: Ragnarok would allow for Thor and Banner to be aware of what's happening so that they can return to Earth to try and warn everyone of who and what is coming. Well, there's 5 post credits scenes, so one of them could be Thanos attacking Nova Corps. I don't think we need to see him collect every single stone for half a movie.
Also, the tessaract is in Asgard. Maybe it goes missing when Hela wrecks shop. The collector is presumably holding the Aether for Thanos. That's halfway there, and makes him quite powerful to start with.
Collector first appeared in the post credit scenes of Thor: Dark World. Since he appeared in GOTG, everyone assumed it was setting up that movie, but what if it was to set up his role in Ragnarok?rhutton125 said:
You're not getting Xandar, Collector, etc unless it is directly related to or referenced in Thor: Ragnarok. I could be wrong but the odds are against it.

So in short only ways to get to Asgard is through the Bifrost or the dimensional rifts that Loki found as used to get to the earth realm. Thanos, GotG, Avengers, etc. are in Midgard realm.

It's always characters or follow-up from the movie just watched, with the exception of Thanos in the Age of Ultron post-credits.

i expect the space stone to be the first one Thanos gets his hands on. It will allow him to traverse the galaxy much faster to pick up the othersGiveEmHellBill said:
The first Avengers movie had two stones: the Space Stone in the Tesseract (now in Odin's vault) and Loki's scepter (the Mind Stone now in Vision's forehead).
