This begs the question:

Will we get a brief misunderstanding-fight between the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy???

Please let it happen.

Think that would be a pretty one sided fight
Agreed. Rocket and Groot would **** up the Avengers

Are we including Yondu, Nebula & Mantis in Guardians?

Currently, Earth's mightiest warriors don't include Hulk or Thor. I think Drax, Groot and Rocket could handle anyone currently on Earth, aside from Vision or Wanda. But they'd all get their kicks in.

I mean, we know who would win. Nobody. They punch for a bit, then they're mates! I imagine Thor would land and explain the situation to them all, or something.

It just registered that we should get to see interactions between Tony Stark and Rocket at some point. Looking forward to that. The next buddy road trip movie in the MCU needs to be Stark, Groot, and Rocket

And Paul Rudd.

But seriously some great comedic actors in MCU.

So, Houstonians...

Comicpalooza is in a couple of weeks and has pulled together the vast majority of Marvel Netflix stars (everyone of note really except Rosario Dawson and Krysten Ritter), plus added Anthony Mackie from the MCU.

Panel schedules aren't up yet but they have confirmed panels for Finn Jones, the Defenders, and Anthony Mackie.

Anybody attending?

I realize that's obviously correct, and that Marvel Studios as it exists now - and the overall MCU - wasn't even remotely in effect in 2003, but shouldn't the Eric Bana Hulk technically be considered the first movie in the MCU? If only because The Incredible Hulk is basically a direct sequel, just starring a different cast?

At the end of Hulk, Banner is in hiding in South America, and then at the beginning of The Incredible Hulk, Banner is still in hiding in South America, only to come back to the states and the same, basic dynamic he left in Hulk. Again, I know The Incredible Hulk was basically a soft-reboot, but it was meant to be a soft-sequel to Hulk as well, just with a different cast. And because South America links Hulk and The Incredible Hulk, and because William Hurt's General Ross (along with Tony Stark in a TIH post credit scene) links to Civil War, at least when it comes to organizing my Blu-rays, I might just throw in Hulk with the rest of them...

Hu? Banner hasn't become the Hulk in the beginning of The Incredible Hulk so there's no way it's a soft-partial-maybesorta-kinda sequel. It was a total reboot.

The two movies have different backgrounds on how Bruce Banner becomes the hulk. In the first movie, Banner does experiments on himself as Ross denies him the use of human subjects. In the MCU version, Ross uses the super-soldier program experiments from World War 2 and uses Banner as more of a military pawn. I'm not sure about the South America thing, maybe its part of the Hulks backstory in the comics.

Yes he has. From the opening scene, he's not only trying to find a cure, but making a distinct effort to remain calm, etc. That said, Bruce brings up some good points.

Hmm... I guess I need to rewatch it. I did read on wiki that it was originally developed as a sequel, but was turned into a reboot to distance from the Ang Lee one.

I think the 2008 film has a brief start in Virginia before the jump. Total reboot.

That's correct. The Incredible Hulk establishes a different background with the movie starting in Virginia and showing how Banner becomes the Hulk. It's brief and then moves to South America.

Reading into the production, I wasn't aware that Ed Norton was so involved in the re-writes.

2003 Hulk was from Universal studios back when Marvel was still licensing out its characters to existing studios to make the movies. It's as much part of the MCU as Sony's Spider-Man and Fox's X-Men.

2008 Hulk was made by Marvel Studios, and I'm guessing they had Hulk start the movie already loose in South America so they wouldn't have to do the whole origin story again 5 years after Universal flopped with it.

Yup, that would also be a big part of why he wasn't Banner moving forward. I actually enjoy that film more than most seem to.

Yeah, I would say it's fair to call it the most underrated Marvel Studios film.

So he wanted to stay on as a writer, or just disagreed with the direction they wanted to take Hulk?

Norton didn't like the studio's meddling. There was a lot more Banner in his version, including a sort of therapy session with Samson that was actually in some of the trailers.

Accuracy is of course debatable, but...
Quote:

After production was completed, Leterrier put together "an assembly" of the film, which basically included everything that was shot. The director explained to Collider: "It's called a suicide run because it's absolutely horrible. You want to commit suicide after you see it."

Marvel decided they wanted make a shorter, more action-packed cut of the film, discarding a lot of the character development pieces that Norton had brought to the screenplay.

Ya'll back off Edward Norton. If it wasn't for his so called "meddling", Omar Little wouldn't be a character in the MCU:
