I do find it interesting that they don't have anything in the contract about other superhero franchises though. I mean, even James Bond actors are forbidden from wearing tuxes in non-james bond movies.Quote:
We don't have anything written into our contracts about other roles that people can do. Indiana Jones and Han Solo are the same person [and] it hasn't been a problem. And I think Thanos and Cable are two very different characters.

When Pierce Brosnan signed up to play James Bond ahead of 1995's Goldeneye, the Irish actor gave away his rights to "wear a tuxedo in any other film". Unfortunately for The Thomas Crown Affair, this meant that there was a slight problem. Partway through John McTiernan's heist drama, Pierce Brosnan's Thomas Crown attends a rather fancy soiree that is a "black and white ball." Because of his contract with James Bond, Pierce Brosnan wasn't able to wear a fancy bow-tie and suit that would have really brought out his eyes and shown the world just how devilishly handsome he was.
I have zero clue what that is about....Red Five said:
Looks like a trailer for Cloak & Dagger dropped today. Didn't see it on here. I have no idea what Freeform is, is that what used to be ABC Family? Looks to me like it will be about as related to the MCU as Legion was to the X-men films. Anyway, could be interesting. Nice to see Roxxon Corp. I've watched a lot worse on CW's DC shows lately, so it's not like I'll turn my nose up at this without at least giving it a shot.
I just run with the idea that they are not connected whatsoever, and just enjoy them as a fanboy.redline248 said:
While we are on the subject, I feel like the different mediums are so different that they exist separate from one another. Netflix shows feel like they don't belong with the movies, shield acts like it's part of the movie universe but has zero ties to Netflix, and the movies don't give two Fs about any of it. I know they aren't necessarily trying to have close connections, but there should be some overlap (like swimmer is talking about). For example, hydra and the hand seem like perfect partner organizations. When agents has a jet that can hop them from LA to Europe and back home, is it that difficult to send someone to check out a bullet proof dude in Harlem?
Random, pointless rant over

I do find it more distracting than not when the Netflix shows find unnatural ways to refer to the Avengers. They're probably the biggest thing the world has ever seen, so saying "the guy with the hammer" is a bit strange, especially when in Thor 2, people just say "look, it's Thor."
It's not overkill, but I hope they won't be quite as reluctant to reference them going forward. We'll be on our sixth series, with four crossover characters fighting an army of undead ninjas. Saying "Captain America" is hardly the most absurd thing that could happen.
