Almost positive it is vibranium. But reading over the wiki they just call it "a bionic arm" so I guess just steel and robotic enhancements.
I thought so as well. It could still be detached even if it's made of vibranium.

it could be vibranium plates. it's not solid like cap's shield. so it will obviously have week points

Definitely not vibranium yet - Tony blows it to shreds with a chest beam, and I think Cap kind of crunches it in Winter Soldier on the helicarrier.

But I'm hoping in either Black Panther or Infinity War, he'll get a ballin new vibranium arm.

Much better idea than that ill-fated period where he was using a magnesium arm.

It was lit.

Thor plot if anyone is interested, shades of Planet Hulk.

Beware, kind of spoiler stuff below. Not really, just the basic plot outline, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Quote:

There he meets Valkyrie, who is hiding out on the planet, and brings him to the Grandmaster to make him a gladiator, where he meets the most popular competitor in the arena, The Hulk, and loses his trademark hair and hammer.

"He's much more of a character than the green rage machine you've seen in the Avengers movies," Ruffalo said of The Hulk. "He's got a swagger. He's like a god."

After the two Avengers reunite, the film turns into a road trip. EW reports director Taika Waititi took inspiration from movies like 48 HRS., Withnail and I, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Along the way, Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange will make an appearnce and the film will lay the groundwork for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Waititi did note to the outlet, however, that Ragnarok isn't just a "set up" movie, but it reinvents the Thor franchise.

I know the Thor movies are low on the Marvel list for many on here, but I've always liked the charisma of Hemsworth as Thor, and a Thor/Hulk roadtrip movie sounds awesome. Really looking forward to this movie.

I think Hemsworth has nailed the role. And I love that the movies have a serious, yet goofy vibe to them.

Plus, after watching Taika Waititi's excellent What We Do in the Shadows, I think we are in for a real fun treat with this movie. That style of comedy brought to this franchise really makes me look forward to this.

The casting for the Thor movies have been great. I think Loki is a top three on screen comic book villain.

yep. It also helps that Loki is the only MCU villian that doesn't die. (technically, I guess the Abomination and Red Skull are still alive somewhere, but i would be really surprised if we ever see them again). Loki has had way more character development than any other MCU villian.

That's bc Loki is awesome, in an evil but not insanely evil way. If that makes sense. The ever present shred of possible redemption with him makes him a great, great character.

Didn't realize that was him that directed What We Do in the Shadows, this will definitely be a stylistic departure in comparison

I'm not a huge fan of the past Thor films (not a knock on Hemsworth, they just haven't been as compelling story-wise for me) but starting to really look forward to this one.

A few miscellaneous MCU villain thoughts on this very-boring Friday morning:

1) I guess because everyone wants a happy ending, every villain is defeated at the end of each film. Only exceptions are Loki (Thor 2, and he was more of an ally in this one) and Thanos (who is across the galaxy, for all intents and purposes, until Infinity War.)

2) This essentially means the status quo in the MCU is peace. There are no villains. A villain pops up, the heroes defeat it, and everything goes back to peace.

3) I'm hoping that Spider-Man: Homecoming will start to populate the world with villains. It's very possible that they're all defeated by the end, but it's all but confirmed that this film will have Vulture, Tinkerer, Shocker, and whoever Logan Marshall-Green is playing. Courtesy spoiler tags. Spidey may beat them all in 120 minutes, but I'd love for there to be more potential threats out there. If anyone can get some super tech and become a hero, why can't there be just as many villains out there?

4) I want a team of supervillains. Sinister Six gets brought up from time to time. Instead of an army of robots, why not unite villains and have them face off against Spider-Man and/or the Avengers?

5) The MCU might also benefit from some villains in the same vein as Loki - can be an antagonist or an antihero at times. People you'll want to keep around for more than one film. I'm thinking someone like Venom. Punisher and Elektra pulled it off on Netflix.

6) I think you need a smart, recurring villain that is slippery and always has a backup plan, too. Someone like Doctor Doom.

Back to work!

The obvious risk is what I'm going to call "death star fatigue." Say marvel had found a way to bring back red skull in Civil War. People might think "oh great, hydra again?" Similar to Agents of Shield. There's only so many times I can watch hydra be defeated.

Loki has managed to avoid this, so far, bc of the gray area in which he operates. Is he going to help, or stab you in the back?

I don't know enough about Dr Doom to say if he could pull this off.

Very good point! Not every villain that can come back should come back. I think for Abomination and Red Skull it may be too little too late. But hopefully there can be some fun new villains - even lesser villains - that would be primed for future appearances or team-ups.

Loki is an all timer for sure. Curious to if he will eventually get redemption or if they go for the epic Shakespearean take and force Thor to kill him.

Either way, it will probably be the heaviest moment of the MCU when it happens (minus something like Cap or Tony dying)

I really think they're setting up Mordo for similar, ongoing "Loki" treatment after the Doctor Strange movie, in terms of his hunt to snuff out magic-users. At least, I hope so, as I enjoyed his character and where he was heading through the end there.

I agree here. I also hate that Inhumans went the TV route because I think Maximus has that potential. Loyal to Attilan and Black Bolt in his own self serving way while desiring his own power. (Though, that might be too close to Loki.)

One of the other issues Marvel has had with their villains is that they are usually a mirror (in terms of powers) of the hero. Look at Ironman 1, 2 and 3, Captain America 1 and 2, Antman, Doctor Strange. Loki is one of the rare villains whose powers don't match up 1:1 with his arch-enemy. Same was true for the 2nd best villain in MCU: Killgrave.

i wonder if Spidey coming home scuttled the inhumans movie? It seemed like since they didn't have X-Men or Spidey, they were going to use the Inhumans in place of X-Men.

Adding the Spidey catalog to the MCU opens up more villians and supporting characters.

Kingpin is #2 and again didn't mirror Daredevil.

Cap 3 did a good job of not mirroring either. However the villain so majorly overshadowed by the 2 teams which is how CW should be IMO.

I'll disagree with you on the placement of Kingpin, but I do like him a lot as a villain, and he fits the that continuing threat style that Loki has had.

The big unknown is what the status quo will be in the next phase. Will the world be involved in galactic affairs? Will heroes travel between worlds? Will Scarlet Witch decide "No More Enhanced" and rewrite reality? Will the death of a hero fundamentally change that circle and its relationship with the public?

I think we're due for a tectonic shift in this persistent universe. Just no idea what it will be.

So back to the death of the heros...

Who is gonna die in Infinity War?

I still think Vison is done for, Thanos is gonna kill him by removing the mind stone, and it's the first stone Thanos gets ahold of.

I have mixed feelings about him. I watched a cartoon or the avengers V thanos and it was interesting.
