Will Marvel be able to resist the comic book trope of using the Infinity Gauntlet to reset/reboot parts of the universe?
they should totally do that. Team up with Fox and create an alternate MCU with the X Men in it!

That's one thing I was thinking.

More than that, they could freshen up things (if they wanted to). Some things that would be par for the course to do and might not be terrible:

Restore a destroyed Asgard.
Switch Thor's gender.
Iron Man wakes up married to Pepper, with a kid.
Quicksilver is alive instead of Hawkeye.
Widow is a villain.
Red Skull is alive, or his daughter Sin is.
The sometimes-troublesome issue of AoS and/or Inhumans are wiped away from canon.
Banner doesn't have control of the Hulk or has cured himself or has separated the Hulk from Banner entirely.
Norman Osborn is running SHIELD.

That's all just if they wanted to mix things up.

Can you fill me in on post-production/pre-production?

Post-production means a movie has completed filming and is in the editing/effects/scoring stage. Basically, the final stage before being completed.

Pre-production means a director is on board, and the project is actively casting/re-writing/set-building/etc. Basically, the stage just before it starts filming.

Didn't see a summary of the current location of the Infinity Stones so figured I'd throw one in. Of the upcoming Marvel movies only Guardians 2 and Thor: Ragnarok should have anything to do with plot going into Infinity War. We still have one Infinity Stone unaccounted for as well if I've got this all correct.

Space Stone - Tesseract - currently in Asgard
Mind Stone - inside of Vision
Reality Stone - Aether - held by The Collector
Power Stone - The Orb - being guarded by the Nova Corps
Time Stone - Eye of Agamotto - with Doctor Strange
Soul Stone - hasn't been in any of the films to date

James Gunn already said there is no Thanos nor are any Infinity Stones in Guardians 2 so unless the Soul Stone shows up in the first Infinity War movie it should be revealed in Thor: Ragnarok. Perhaps Heimdall possess it, or maybe its inside of Mjolnir, or the villain for the movie Hela has it. Also Hulk and Doctor Strange will be part of Ragnarok so its pretty likely that something major is going down.

While I love the show, I am not a huge fan of it cluttering up the movie stuff...especially with the lame-ass inhumans.

Seeing as how the Inhumans have been treated as the MCU's mutants pretty much from the get go, I can't say that what they're doing isn't fine as is. I mean really, other than Magneto, I don't even care at this point if we ever see mutants in the MCU.

The issue with AoS is the lack of explanation for SHIELD still existing in the larger MCU. Inhumans existing is not so much a problem, since it was mentioned in one of the films that more enhanced people are appearing (wasn't it in Age of Ultron?). So Inhumans existing is covered under that umbrella to an extent.

I mostly mentioned it because of the strife between the TV and movie sides. Plus if it sticks around long enough, IW is as good a stopping point as anything.

Imagine if the gauntlet were to tweak reality when destroyed (or whatever) and Colson didn't die. That would pretty much erase AoS, put Colson back in the mix for Phase 3, AND we could slowly rediscover a few cool parts of AoS if we wanted, like having Daisy show up as a justice warrior hacker or something in a film or in Defenders.

Not saying they should do any of this, just wondering what they might tweak if they go this route. Personally I'm a fan of a persistent universe where characters grow up, grow old, retire, die, etc. without cop-outs.

So my guess is Vision is the first to get killed by Thanos, and that's how he gets his first stone.

I've never read IW or much about Thanos in the books, but is he a big enough badass to come kill Vision without any other stones?

No idea, but his stone being stuck in his forehead seems to be the easiest to get and it's known to be there.

He might not know the collector has one.

Thats the release date. I can walk into any store and get it on 2/28. Amazon usually has stuff available for preorder months before the release date and will deliver on that day, but for some reason this is different.

Thanos in the comics is about as big of a badass as there is, even without any stones. He probably isn't as powerful as, say, Galactus, but he's very high up the power scale. We don't really know how the MCU will handle him, so I dont want to say too much about his origins (although his origin comics are some of my favorites) for fear of spoilers. But basically, he's kind of like Space Hitler.

Comic Thanos could easily destroy Vision, but Vision in the comics isn't powered by an infinity gem.

Also, that's the first article of it's kind I've ever seen from the trades (Variety, THR, Deadline, The Wrap). I think it's more of a desperate-for-clicks kind of thing, but one of the big four having an article about test screening scores is pretty unprecedented.

Kind of odd that the two other high scorning examples they list are IM3 and the first Avengers. I (and I think most) would put those at opposite ends of the spectrum of Marvel quality.
