You sure do spend a lot of time telling everyone how much you hate comic book movies

quote:Evans has said in the past that if he was asked to return after his commitment was up, he'd consider it. Though he has said that he would like to focus on directing.... I think I only saw the one movie that he directed where he starred with Alice Eve (I think), and I can't say that I'd recommend it.
Wonder if he picks up the shield during that conflict with Evans' contract ending.

On the August 10th episode of the podcast, Perlman (who is co-writing Captain Marvel with Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur co-writer Meg LeFauve) discussed Carol Danvers' backstory, and specifically, how it will need to be altered in order to differentiate itself from Hal Jordan's/Green Lantern's. Read her comments below.quote:
I don't think I've ever had a project where I've been more mindful about the impact that it could have and the importance of it. She's such an incredibly kick-ass character and Kelly Sue DeConnick did a great run with her story arc recently. But here's the thing, if you were just going to do a straight adaptation of the comics, her origin story is very similar to Green Lantern. And obviously, that's not what we want to do. There's a lot of reinvention that needs to happen. And also, she's her own person and she's a great character. We have to be aware of what's happened in other Marvel film and makes sure that her particular storyline is unique and fun and also fits in within this world that's going on at the same time. It's a little bit of an interesting story gauntlet. It's been good to have a partner. It's been an incredible experience. If we can pull it off it could be an incredibly important but also really fun and kick-ass superhero film.

Did we already get a Kree / Human hybrid in Agent Coulson?

Sorta, I guess. It was some sort of serum made from Kree blood, right?
quote:That wouldn't be a bad way to go. You could work it as she is in charge of overseeing a military installation which is studying the terrigan mist. An accident occurs where she is introduced to the mist which makes her powers manifest. You could even have her working with Dr. Lawson (the Kree hero Captain Marvell) where he dies from the accident but "saves" her. So you change her origin a bit but it is still similar to the original origin.
The easiest way to give her a backstory is actually to make her an Inhuman. That's kinda what she is anyway, being a Kree-human hybrid. Doubt they do that, though.
