Would be an interesting way to start the conflict and play towards some source material to have Rodgers go down prior to the intergalactic threat arriving.

I could see Cap sacrificing himself at the end of Infinity Wars 1 to buy time for everyone else to regroup and win the war in Infinity Wars 2.

We know he's willing to jump on a grenade for his team. It would be a very fitting way to see him go.

Evans has said in the past that if he was asked to return after his commitment was up, he'd consider it. Though he has said that he would like to focus on directing.... I think I only saw the one movie that he directed where he starred with Alice Eve (I think), and I can't say that I'd recommend it.

I am pretty sure Evans only has 1 movie left on his contract. They may take him out in IW. I would be fine with either Sam or Buck taking the shield.

I hope we don't have to wait for IW to see Winter Soldier. I want him to have a cameo in Black Panther.

So Cap goes down and his Secret Avengers need someone to lead the way, so they thaw Bucky? Probably not... Just thinking out loud. If Cap dies, I think Bucky will witness it.

The battle for the shield is certainly mainly between Sam and Bucky, but I don't think you can rule out Natasha. She has been Cap's sidekick as much as anyone and has held the shield quite a bit.

Quick note on Black Panther film, given comments by one of the actors and script writer: it sounds like T'Challa faces threats to Wakanda and his rule from within and outside, and he has to seek help from the CIA.

My guesses:
CIA means Everett Ross (Martin Freeman)
Villains are Erik Kilmonger (Michael B Jordan) and possibly Ulysses Klawe (Andy Serkis, seen in Age of Ultron) teaming up
Possible assistance from Winter Soldier or any other Team Cap member, but I think Bucky is most likely


With that, and with how Civil War ended, it's hard to imagine an Infinity War (part 1) without Cap. I know the rumor was once that none of the original Avengers would be there for part 1, but that seems to be less and less likely. I believe Chris Hemsworth is confirmed for part 1. Also, RDJ will be in Spider-Man - maybe having one film left on contract isn't quite the barrier we think it is. Just money whip them for one more round. Especially since IW1 and 2 are filming concurrently, last I heard.

I never really thought about Ms. Marvel's origins being similar to Green Lantern until they mentioned it. Probably because when I think of Green Lantern in Marvel I think more of Nova and the Nova Corps.

To me Ms. Marvel's origin was the case of a single alien (not a network of alien cops like in GL) exploding a device which accidentally gave an earth woman his powers. It also turned her into a half-alien, so there is another big difference.

I guess some casual readers/watchers will just associate anything with GL if there is an alien involved.

Pilot-turned-spacecop? I don't know if that necessarily applies to Captain Marvel though.

Regardless, I hope they keep the Air Force angle and give us more Rhodey. I love Don Cheadle.

There is little chance many in the audience would associate Danvers with Green Lantern, as I'd guess very few of them saw that piece of crap.

We've seen the Kree. I bet they approach her as a deliberate empowerment by the government using Kree DNA. With Rhodey on the way out, the US military needs a new superhero of its own.

That would be a way to tie in Agents of Shield since that's what Fury used on Coulson to bring him back to life

The easiest way to give her a backstory is actually to make her an Inhuman. That's kinda what she is anyway, being a Kree-human hybrid. Doubt they do that, though.

They used GH.325 which is a drug from the harvested Kree body.I guess it was just used to bring him back, not to give him any powers.

That wouldn't be a bad way to go. You could work it as she is in charge of overseeing a military installation which is studying the terrigan mist. An accident occurs where she is introduced to the mist which makes her powers manifest. You could even have her working with Dr. Lawson (the Kree hero Captain Marvell) where he dies from the accident but "saves" her. So you change her origin a bit but it is still similar to the original origin.

And I guess I really don't see how you get the GL and Ms. Marvel origins to be similar. Only thing they have in common is they were both military people (I am assuming they are doing the comparison with the Hal Jordan version of GL). Danvers gets here powers after she is in an accident with an exploding kree device. Hal Jordan is given the ring and thus his powers from another dying GL Abin Sur. Not really that similar.

But to the vast audience? They'll just see two people who got powers from an alien.

I could see this being 100% true. The concept art for Vulture was very mechanical, and the wings almost looked like quinjet propellers. They'd just have to be careful to keep this a Spider-Man story - somehow Vulture goes after or is fixated on Spider-Man first and foremost.

If people can't see the vast difference, then they probably have to have someone following them around to tell them when to breathe.
