Looks like it will be added to my favorite Wikipedia page - "List of films featuring powered exoskeletons"!

Man... I have no idea HOW this would bridge the gap between phases 2 and 3, but that's pretty exciting if that ends up being the case.

Agreed - movie looks way better now that we've seen some more footage. And been given an actual plot, and explanation of powers.

My guess is it will highlight the proliferation of "supers" and highlight the need for regulation/registration. Basically, by the start of Phase 3, the superhero honeymoon is over.

I've heard that Ant-Man doesn't do much bridging of phase 2 and 3. I don't think it really advances the overall plot much, if at all. More of a one-off kind of thing, though we might see Rudd again in Avengers 3, potentially.

OTOH, Feige (in that link from AgMaurauder one page back) directly says that it DOES bridge 2 to 3. IIRC, it's Ant-Man and some other minor hero types that stir things up enough that Stark supports the registry that Cap opposes while leads to the Civil War thing.

Or words to that effect...

Ok, I just watched Thor 2 yesterday, and the collector from Guardians (Benicio Del Toro) shows up at the end and grabs the dark matter stuff and says "one down, five to go".

Could someone give me a rundown of what all the objects are, which ones we've seen, and which ones we haven't? I remember the Tesseract from Avengers, and the Orb from Guardians, but that's it.

Loki's Sceptor is one. (Well, the gem from it)

i doubt the actual plot plays much into it. I'm guessing that there will be a post-credit teaser (or it will be mentioned in Cap 3).

Stark will probably see Ant-man and Spidey as "amateurs" that need to be reigned-in through oversight. They'll be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

The gems so far:

Tesseract (space)
Aether (reality)
Orb (power)
Loki's scepter (mind)

Soul gem will almost certainly be in Guardians 2. That leaves only the Time gem, probably in Thor: Ragnarok or the first Infinity War movie.

I think it will be more substantial than that, and in Ant Man or in the open of Civil War we see some minor heroes get some civilians killed. Thinking there's a good chance it's Pepper that dies.

There's a pretty strong theory it will actually be in Avengers 2, with the Vision.

Can definitely see that, but they would have to intro the gem somehow, and it has a strong tie to a storyline that many expect to be in Guardians 2.

Now, the Mind gem, I can see. Stark has already studied it and seen it in action.

I'm assuming that Vision's AI story will be more than just "you used the Soul gem on me so I'm good but the Mind gem on Ultron so he's bad." Might delve a little more into the dangers of AI in general.

That's just my guess, but I think shoehorning in another infinity stone just to meet a quota might be a bit much. But we'll see.

Would anyone really be opposed to Thanos just having one or two in his possession by the time he gathers the other stones? I'd rather see that than forcing another stone into the Civil War or something like that.

By the way, a line from the Ant-Man trailer that could be some of that "bridging phases 2 and 3" thing we talked about:

"If you give god-like powers to everyone, it's gonna be chaos."

Indeed...

The spider-man info makes you wonder how it ties with DD, having now two masked vigilantes in one city, and a city that already suffered from two other hero events (hulk and avengers) prior.

True, especially considering that ***SUPER MINOR DAREDEVIL SPOILER*** there's some events in Daredevil that gain media attention. Maybe Spidey isn't really a known commodity yet?

I did love this comment from the article:

quote:
Feige was also quoted saying, "There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don't know it yet."

It's not exactly the same, but when the X-Mansion was destroyed for the 1,462,347th time, the robotic AI that ran the Danger Room came to life and decided to exact revenge on the X-Men for being abandoned. It formed a robot body and called itself "Danger".

This guy makes some good trailer breakdown videos - Things you may have missed in the Ant-Man trailer

If you don't have time to watch, I'm particularly intrigued by the speculation about the quick shots of some action in what looks like a house in a kind of jungle or something - possibly a flashback because of the architecture of the house and (as seen in the teaser breakdown) some books and stuff (implying old times). This could be a flashback, maybe even the intro of the film, of young Hank Pym doing work for Shield or something. In addition, Howard Stark and Peggy Carter are supposed to return in some capacity. Would make sense.

Could be another one of those phase-bridging MCU tie-ins. I'm all about that life.

I appreciate their approach. This isn't some cult film where 99% of all moviegoers are comic book readers who know her.

I think the video misinterprets what's meant when the villain says Pym hid a suit from him. I took that to mean Pym had hidden the modern yellow jacket suit, and the villain starts wearing it when he finds it and takes it. Then Pym digs up his old ant man suit and gives it to Lang for whatever his mission is (possibly stealing the yellow jacket suit back).

Just a guess, though.
