I'd have given it a shot if it was a movie. Ant Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Dr. Strange all sounded stupid too when I first read about them, and then Feige did his magic... But on tv? I'm skeptical.

However, if you were buying comics in the North Dallas area between 2007-09 its possible you would have bought them from the comic book store I used to manage.

Daredevil = Really damn good (but I love the character)

Luke Cage = Terrible. The biggest black eye on Marvel's resume. I'm now worried about Iron Fist.
AoS is mediocre. I haven't watched the new season because I'm just not that interested anymore. I'll try to get to it eventually.
Agents of Shield is good, but I hated the Inhumans plot. Ghost Rider (this season) is a hell of a lot better, but there is still residual Inhuman fallout. I'm still convinced the tv show putting Inhumans so heavy into the plot last year helped kill the movie. I have no interest in a tv show for them.

I thought Luke Cage was better than Jessica Jones.
While the Netflix shows have the cinematic feel, I prefer the characters on Agents of Shield to anyone else in the MCU. If Thanos came down and just destroyed every character we've been introduced to thus far, I would probably feel the worst about Fitz, Mack, and Coulson. All three are great.

Some reports are saying that this show will have 8 episodes in a season. I am 50x more likely to watch under those circumstances than with a 22-episode format.
I think the 8-12 number is about perfect. Long enough to develop interest, but short enough that you aren't having to drag out plotlines.rhutton125 said:

That would make it way better. AoS is ridiculously long.
I would agree that the first half of Luke Cage was pretty great but the second half, specifically when Diamondback was shown for the first time, everything just started to go down hill IMO. My problem with Luke Cage is that it came off feeling like they fit two seasons into one, and it just didn't mesh.Bruce Almighty said:

Diamondback was a terribly developed character. I liked Luke Cage but I think Jessica Jones was superior.

Strange is up to 205 M Domestically & 616 M Worldwide. It'll likely end up #9 in the MCU domestically and #7 worldwide. I would think most consider that a pretty big success for introducing a somewhat lesser known character.
Drax stabbing that monster from the inside is hilarious. Baby Groot is going to steal the show.

They've got great characters. Hopefully they can find a good villain. That's the only thing that can torpedo this. That's why I was hoping this would be our Thanos intro.... But we have to trust Gunn
It has managed to do what was so easy for movies in the 80's to do, but seems almost impossible now. Exude a tone of carefree innocence thoughout the movie without seeming overly cheesy. Hopefully Vol 2 is more of the same.
Not sure if that GotG2 trailer is amazing or too far over the top. It looks cornball to me and I loved the first one.
