That may have been the most gruesome scene of the series for me.

Yeah, I would have to watch it again, but I was under the impression that they were basically hogtied with the zipties, severely limiting movement. At a minimum, the wrists and ankles were tied.

Seriously. I've now apparently seen the guy in two episodes and if you asked me to pick him out of a lineup right this second I wouldn't be able to do it.

Great first episode. This and GOT are my two favorite shows on TV right now.

The neck slashing special effect was so well done - just gruesome.

It was cool to hear Greg N. Explain how they did the effect on Talking Dead. I'm paraphrasing here, but he said these days the blood spray would have typically just been cgi.
Instead of doing this, they actually had unhidden tubes around the actors' necks that sprayed the blood out and then used editing to erase the tubes.

I'm not one that usually is affected by gore, but that scene had me a little nauseous

I agree with the poster who said the "hopelessness" feel that the scene had made it that much better

I liked the levity of Glenn nearly getting bashed twice but interrupted.

Awesome episode, and Tyrese becoming a badass again is awesome. I was a little tired of him being a wuss.

I also liked Rick basically wanting to commit mass acts of homicide against the Termin-ians (?). And his "No! Let him turn!" bit, only to show bald butcher as a walker, was awesome, too.

The neck slash blood spray was a bit much... and the screaming chicks being eaten alive was also hard to watch. But that's probably how things would go down if it were real.

Overall, pretty awesome episode. Not sure if people are still nitpicking this show to death, but that's pretty good TV right there. And oh yeah, the dude that got his face munched on was friggin hilarious! I can only guess it was somewhat intentional to be a ridiculous shot to bring some fiction into an otherwise very real/gruesome episode.

Yeah, that dude was just crawling backwards with no apparent injury preventing him from getting up and running away. I laughed when they cut back to his face being eaten.

I'm guessing we get to see the dude in the cabin who got his ass beat by Tyrese again since they did not establish his fate, and it seemed clear (to me at least) that Tyrese refused to actually kill him. I also agree with the speculation that Eugene is full of it and is probably one of those special people who has been so engrossed in video games that he has blurred the lines of reality.

Yeah, I had the sense we'll see him again.

And we'll clearly see Gareth again.

He told Carol he killed him (to the point of making sure he didn't turn I think). Not sure why he would lie about that.

The actor that played the character interacting with Tyreese did a really good job. I got the feeling that at one point he was a decent guy but realized that he could never go back.

I couldnt handle Omar in this show, he would probably get killed off in the dumbest way imaginable. Like the group is training/target practice and a stray bullet hits something behind the targets and ricochets into Omar.

I felt it probably wasn't necessary to show him dead bc with the way tyrese snapped it was evident that he killed him.

Plus, his tackle through the doorway.

Maybe he's got some college eligibility left and can come to a certain school?

Is that what he was saying, though? That part kind of confused me. I thought at first that was what he was saying, but then concluded that he was saying he could use the project to eradicate the zombies, but that's not what caused it.
