Ok the more I read and listen to stuff the more I'm getting convinced that this time is different and we're going to get some semblance of the sequel trilogy going away….dont know how they'll do it in terms of just totally ret-conning it (the least likely)….explaining it away in story…..or just tip toeing around it in future stories and never bringing it up or referencing it…
Don't expect they'll go as far as to actually come out and admit fault….
But let's look at the timeline….
1/15 - Dave Filoni takes over at lucasfilm
3/18 - Josh D'Amaro takes over as CEO
4/29 - Disneyland permanently adds Luke, Han, Leia, and Vader to Galaxys Edge
4/30 - Josh D'Amaro, Dana Walden, and Alan Bergman meet with Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan as well as other folks at Lucasfilm to discuss future of Star Wars
5/5 - Neilson reports the top viewed Star Wars programs (including all movies, tv shows, and cartoons) for Star Wars day from back in 2025. Showed zero interest on Disney plus for ST.
5/13 - Report comes out stating Ashoka season 2 has been delayed to early 2027 with no apparent reason why. I did do an AI search for this and it states, "The delay is largely due to extended production and post-production timelines for a larger-scale, higher-quality, and more complex story, alongside strategic shifts under new Lucasfilm leadership.". Now I have no idea if that's actually true just because AI said it doesn't make it factual at all for something like this, but there ya go….
In addition, other than the mangrove movie….the Star Wars racer game….Ashoka season 2….and the star fighter movie….there is NOTHING solid on the horizon….
Yes we still expect to get a Jedi 3 game and I'm guessing that Dawn of the Jedi movie is still getting attention….but no dates, time tables, road maps, etc has been brought up or even hinted at….
Me thinks big changes are a comin…..
And if they do follow through with what I'm guessing….heres my idea on how…..
They'll have to use the world between worlds and me saying that alone i know is not an original idea a lot of people thinking the same way I am are guessing that too….
But……with regards to how……
I'm going to guess that it's discovered that 'ole Palps ended up discovering the world between worlds and was using that to fix mistakes to how the resistance ended up winning, creating a time loop where he could constantly go back and fix errors….and in doing this Ashoka discovers the eventual downfall of the resistance through the world between worlds as well and sees the first order/emperor ruling over the galaxy…..and in turn does "something" (I'm not a writer) to stop Palps and that future where the good guys lose, but also ends up sacrificing herself to do so which ultimately un-does the whole timeline that leads to the first order rising to begin with…..
I don't know….odds are very strongly I'm still way off….but considering the changing of the guard and what we've seen, it's a lot more fun to speculate over this right now….
