He returned with Stowaway Ezra. Ahsoka and Sabine are stuck with the Fallen Jedi and his former padawan

I had at least one of this gentleman's pieces hanging on my wall since I was a kid. The one shown here has been hanging since 1977.

I have that hanging in my office.

Looked back several pages to see if this had already been posted.

Maybe I'm the only one who cares, but I'm pretty excited to add this to my Christmas tree this year.

Really?

I thought this was the first year of any of the Vintage Kenner versions. I still have my Early Bird Certificate from '77 so I was beyond excited to see this.

Guess I'll have to look for more of them.

I'll have to check when we get the Christmas stuff out. We bought a bunch of Hallmark figurine ornaments years ago. I think we have a Vader, Yoda, BB8 and one other one. Maybe they're lower quality than the one you posted or something

Gotcha.

The vintage '78 (there were none for the '77 holiday season - you literally got an IOU from them and we got our 4 pack of original action figures in February of '78) Kenner series looks to be new last month.

Probably targeted at the olds among Star Wars fandom, and not at folks who weren't kids in the late '70's.

Here's the original 1978 packaging from the first Vader action figure and second is the ornament in hand to show scale. The ornament is not meant to be opened.

When you inevitably broke the lightsabers in the first week you had the toy, you could paint a toothpick as its replacement.

Translation: New Star Wars project announced that will stay in development hell for a year, then get quietly canceled and never mentioned again.

My plot.

With Sidious dead and he having no junior Sith, and Rey the only "prime" jedi force user, the entire trilogy is kicked off with the Midichlorians realizing they have royally f****d everything up with their horrible selective power granting so they use the force to bring to bring together a motley crew of assassins, scoundrels and whatnot to eliminate ALL force users including in Rey, thus killing off Force users as a concept, ending the ******ed millennia of Sith vs Jedi fighting that has consumed the universe, and brings ACTUAL balance to the Force.

The End.

Which side are we supposed to be rooting for in this plot? Because I lean towards the motley crew.

If they're only giving Thrawn one movie (maybe 2, I'm assuming he shows up somewhere in Mando & Grogu), I would really like them to make 3 movies that are KOTOR or the Yuzhn Vong vs a 100 years in the future New Republic. I don't mind having Fred Calrissian show up or Bernice Antilles for a little continuity, but unless you're giving me de-aged Big Three, that's get going beyond where we're at.

not going to happen. Disney is too risk averse overall to make any real break from immediate continuity. and recent bombs like Acolyte that THEY screwed up only reinforces that.

I mean.. how many times do we have to see &*#$ing Tatooine in Star Wars properties. Yes the Hutts are there, but the galaxy is huge and there are many other crime syndicates, most smore interesting than Hutts. We can go 100 years and never revisit Tatooine and nothing would be lost.

also see: star trek. they have tried several times to move on but cannot help themselves and they eventually tie everything back to everything else. even the Kelvin line had to go and tie itself directly back to TOS.

the sad thing is that none of the big media companies have spent any effort creating something new - giving it time to gestate and grow. Babylon 5 was the last real effort to do that.

Now that I've got my foot in the door at Disney as a ghostwriter, it's only a matter of time until I'm wearing Filoni's hat and personally auditioning actresses to play real-life Bastilla Shan.

Secretary: "Mr. Porkchop? Gal Gadot is here to audition, sir."

I like the idea about the Galaxy being so large. Show me another group that wants to dominate like the Empire and have them come kick the Empire's ass. Give me some evil v. evil.

I would pick New Jedi Order over KOTOR 10 times out of 10, and I love KOTOR. NJO, even an in the future version without the legacy characters, would be awesome and I think a big hit with fans that have gotten tired of the same Jedi problems that every entry seems to deal with. The Yuuzhan Vong are such an amazing enemy- 100% biological technology, inability to be affected by the Force, the bushido/ritual sacrifice culture, the insane living world ships. The visual spectacle would be like nothing Star Wars has ever seen before.

Yeah the Vong with their amphistaffs and that terrible monster they have that controls the fleet movements would look fantastic on a big screen.

This would make the most sense. Depending on how it's framed, it could technically fit the "not part of the Skywalker Saga" bit, while also being something new...
