Too busy worried about farting camels and Senatorial subcommittees.

it also adds nothing to the story other than a gotcha!

we still got the stupid version of this with Rey renaming herself Skywalker.

The Amblin vibes are strong with this one.

I don't think it's for me, but I did appreciate the thematically-appropriate adaptation of Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home)".

Also not for me, but THIS should have been released in theaters as a summer movie to hook kids into the big screen Star Wars experience/.

I agree. Seems like a huge miss. Then follow with an animated series on Disney+.

Poster. Note the X-Wings middle right

Synopsis and character names.

The series, created by Spider-Man Homecoming director Jon Watts and writer Christopher Ford, who also serve as the showrunners, follows along as Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), KB (Kyriana Kratter), and Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) get lost in this wonderfully strange and dangerous galaxy.
Luckily, Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law) is here to help. "I'll get you home," he tells them in the new trailer. "We'll make a partnership." Of course, pirate ports, booby traps, hidden treasure, and massive tentacled aliens are just a few of the obstacles between the four young travelers and their goal. As Neel points out, they're lost. Really lost!

Plus, today the final key art was revealed featuring series stars Jude Law and the rest of the crew with the skull-like face of SM-33 in the distance.

Individual episodic directors are Jon Watts, David Lowery, the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung. The season was written by Christopher Ford and Jon Watts, with two episodes by Myung Joh Wesner. The series is executive produced by Christopher Ford, Jon Watts, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, the Anti-Christ, and Colin Wilson, along with co-executive producers Chris Buongiorno, Karen Gilchrist, Carrie Beck and producers Susan McNamara and John Bartnicki. And the behind-the-scenes crew on the series includes legendary Industrial Light & Magic VFX supervisor John Knoll.

I've been wanting to see The Daniels do Star Wars (or a Marvel project), this looks like a lot of fun.

I see from twitter that the Anti-Christ just put out a press release disavowing having anything to do with this show or Kathleen Kennedy.

Fantastic trailer, one that finally feels like a Star Wars property actually branching out into new territory. Even the use of music is uncharted for the franchise. It just looks like pure fun, while catering to both kids and adults, in a way that doesn't come across as cloying, childish, or annoying. Sign me up.

For all us Dark Forces / Mysteries of the Sith / Jedi Outcast, it definitely looks like Jude Law is carrying a version of Kyle Katarn's famed Bryar pistol on the poster.

They don't look remotely the same to me. Different handles. Also that's the holster you are seeing and not the gun.

He looks less Jedi and more rogue combo of Han and Lando.

I was blown away from the first second on opening night of that movie and it was all me and my cousin and brother and every kid we knew could talk about for a long time.

We bought 8-track of the soundtrack and listened to it riding around in our POS Ford Grenada.

Ford should be ashamed for having that car in their history.

I was watching the trailer with it with one of my kids, and just still in awe that in a four-year period he created 3 of the most instantly known themes in the entire history of movies. Jaws 75, Star Wars 77, Superman 78. 3 themes that seemingly everyone on the planet knows.

Add in a couple more years to add the Imperial March (a regular piece heard at football games everywhere) and the Raiders March.

I'm 40 minutes into Music By John Williams and am thoroughly enjoying it.

I had no idea he'd lost his wife so young.

Add one more year for the E.T. flying theme.

Don't forget Close Encounters in that same period. Probably his most underrated work, it's a great score and easily one of my favorites. Using "When you wish upon a star" with permission from Disney, the final 5 minutes and closing credits is a master work; just completely engrossing and works so perfectly with the film.

John Williams is probably the closest we have to what would be a modern day Mozart. His ability to "envision" sound and arrange it all on paper is something none of us can even conceptualize. We're all like Salieri to his Mozart.

I actually think 1941 is his most underrated work from that period. Close Encounters is another of his magnificent scores that was paid its respect in a key entry sequence in Moonraker.

Spielberg and Williams talking about Yoda's theme Easter egg in E.T.:

JW: "Is anyone gonna get it?"
SS: "About 200 million people."

Never seen 1941, but for me that's Home Alone. It rarely if ever gets talked about in these types of retrospectives/docs.

They skipped it on this one too. But it's such a hugely nostalgic piece of music for me.

Edit: The Patriot, too.

Edit #2: Well I spoke too soon. They circled back to Home Alone.

That sounds pretty awesome, and like they're finally beginning to connect the two series (The Mandalorian and Ahsoka), in order to ultimately set up Filoni's Heir to the Empire movie.

That said, for the life of me, I can't remember the end of Ahsoka season one. Is Thrawn still in the other galaxy or did he make the leap to the main galaxy at the end?
