Alright I'm out of this thread until I go see it.
That was a fun time. I'll say that the pacing is really fast and can feel hard to keep up, but the action scenes are great, and the performances were all very good.
I wouldn't put it above Rogue One, but it's still a solid movie and there's some great moments for the die-hard fans.

I really enjoyed it. Fun film. I thought Ehrenreich did a good job. My only complaint was that the picture seemed too dark. It was hard to make things out in scenes that weren't well lit. Presumably, it was just the theater I was in.

So young Lando spinoff and now this.
I'm assuming we'll see how Lando came to Cloud City in his spin-off, my main question is how he'll tie into Ep IX.
Would it be cool if Lando was involved in finding Luke's lightsaber after Vader cut off his hand? Maybe he knew Maz, too.
I will say it would be awesome to see Rey give him the Falcon back.
Also, dude needs to be shown proper respect in the Rebellion. Homeboy destroyed Death Star II.

That's a great idea and definitely the kind of little things I'd like to see in Episode IX that would help tie up the saga.

RO seems really split. There are a few I know that have it ranked up there with the best but most everyone else has is mixed up in the middle somewhere. No one I know hates it though.

IMO R1 is a well-made movie with some enjoyable aspects, but it could be a little hard to get into it when you know none of the characters are important and exactly to what extent they will succeed in their mission. I think a lot of detractors might have gotten knocked out of the movie by the early frenetic world hopping and deceptively irrelevant Forest Whittaker, too.
I would expect it to have a lot of variation in that ROTJ-TFA-SOLO-R1 cluster of movies that all seem very dependent on what you value in a movie experience.

Would be funny to see him go through the falcon like an hgtv renovation " we need to put a bar here, convert this to a master cape closet..."
As for episode 9, makes sense the resistance needs to be helped by Lando. Could be an easy way to bring in a fleet under commander callarisian.
Solo tanking for star wars movie this weekend. Kathleen Kennedy gonna get her ass fired/reassigned withing a year.
Y'all keep thinking it was an angry minority that hated TLJ. I said the fallout of that debacle wouldn't be felt until Solo and episode IX. Hopefully whoever takes over for Kennedy runs Rian Johnson out of town, too.
