Exactly right. And the exact same is true for ROTJ.
Yep a wasted opportunity.TCTTS said:
Btw, how much better would TPM be if the Gungans were a cooler species? If they weren't designed/played for laughs but rather they were competent warriors? And instead of Jar Jar being a buffoon, he was a badass who did something noble, but ultimately against societal rules, to get banned? Then had a really cool redemption story in that final battle?

Pretty sure Jerrjerrod didn't qualify for any research in Rebellion. He was a good diplomat though.Simplebay said:

Have to say I don't belong anywhere near #1. I have read 1 SW novel, played a handful of SW video games, and have not seen Rebels or finished CW.
Muck probably belongs at #1 from what I have seen.
I'm just a huge movie nerd.
Yes, it's so awful. We realize it and we're all in denial and that's why we have a zillion page thread dedicated to Star Wars.lostrg said:

Man, that is like a literally perfect summation of how I feel about the new trilogy.TV Casualty said:
The new disney trilogy represents a lost opportunity more than anything.
It's rare to have a trilogy green lighted from the start. They had a chance to create a long story arc connected through the 3 movies. So many interesting possibilities there.
What we got was a largely inconsistent plot mixed with pointless excursions and forced comedy. The characters are still paper thin after two movies and I have no attachment to them.
Having said that, they are better than the prequels and I would rather have them than not.
